Anyway, I signed up fro the corporate account back when Cingular was Cellular One. Coverage is for the most part good, except in my office, where I need to be by a window to place an outgoing call (I seem to get incoming calls fine, though). As far as paying through the nose for a phone, once you decide on your carrier and what kind of plan you want, and if you are OK with a 2-year service contract, look for advertised specials that give free phones for signing up for a service contract (or extending the one you have).
I thought Cellular One is now AllTel

I found online that if you wait you will be waiting for a long time....best thing to do is call and make a big deal, somehow it gets activated then....wish me luck and pray that I have patience

Because if I had to wait that long for my phone to work bad things would happen. baaaad things
Just like this weekend's Gospel, persistence pays off. It was a simple matter of someone actually sending the activation through. It took me going through countless people, different tech, a product specialist who sent me to another tech, who sent me to a voice specialist. The "voice specialist," said: "I already located the problem and am fixing it right now." Me: "That's the best news I heard all night." Him: "Ha ha, just give me a couple of...Ok, power cycle your iPhone...you beautiful beautiful machine." I turn the iPhone back on it is working. He tells me to make a call and go on the internet, both work, everything up and running in less than five minutes. I ask him what the problem is, he says: "you were activated but no one sent the activation through, you have to know where to look." It was everyone passing me to someone else until someone finally knew what was going on. Moral of the story, if you get an iPhone, be persistent, tell them you want your phone activated, and, in my case, tell them it is your only phone and means for people to contact you. Eventually, they will find someone who knows what is what and locate the problem. Worked for me, and, believe it or not, the wait was so worth it!
