I've heard different things from different people about it. I have Cingular/ATT and personally can't stand it. Trying to find a different carrier between sprint, verizon wireless & t-mobile. I need to get a pda phone so trying to find something that'll work a little better than ATT.

when I was in the States I had Cingular and loved them--I had really good signal most everywhere, except in Michigan I hit certain "dead zones" where I was lucky to have 1 bar (Michigan is weird like that, even with their local carriers)--its like a black hole for signal. I really liked them... I just hope the service is as good when we come back to the States next year, because I have a fairly new 2 year contract (I had to upgrade my plan because I kept going over my minutes and had used all my rollover--no idea HOW I managed that!) that is suspended until I get back (The $100--we have 2 phones on the plan--I pay now is a lot better than the 200+ I was paying for going over!).

I had ATT for two years. I wasn't particularly happy with the service. Then when my contract ran out, I switched to TMobile. And even though my contract had ended, ATT charged me a $250 early termination fee. Since it was auto paid out of my checking account, they took the money and it took over 4 months and a letter to the State's Attorney General to get my money back. This also happened to three other people I know.

So I'm not a big fan of ATT. I think it would be a bad idea for anyone to have a wireless provider that is run by satan

I've had Cingular/ATT for a bout a year and a half now. I got it because all my family had it and I could talk to them for free. When I'm back home in KY I get better signal than here in the Florida Panhandle although I do get pretty good coverage here as well. It is funny though that I can be sitting in my house and wathc the bars go up and down for seemingly no reason. I believe that this is at least partially caused by unknown interference coming off the AFB that I live right next to. Other wireless devices like game controllers do strange things at times as well.

Over all I have been happy with the service all over the country which I have covered pretty well in my travels for work.

Umm... the coverage here has been ok. I think I got similar coverage w/ my Sprint phone before I switched.

Agreed.

Maybe Fr. Brian can bless all the cell towers in his area ... that might help. Sprinkle holy water on the phone too ...

Thy Geekdom Come

Write StColette a PM. She works at RadioShack and sells them. She says it depends on where you are planning on using the phone.

Oh, and she says go to a Radioshack to buy it: "he'll pay through the nose if he goes to a AT&T/Cingular corporate store."
