They have us stay at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas. Also, something they're doing this that I didn't notice in past years is what they call a commuter pass where you stay somewhere else and go to the convention.

Yeah, definitely skip the commuter thing and stay at the Gaylord resort- those resorts are AMAZING! (I went to a conference at the one in Nashville a few years ago)

Well, the thing is, I'm studying abroad right now, and I would like to spend all of Christmas break home with my family who I will not have seen in 5 months... and I would like to have a couple days to settle into school and new house and new roommates- if I go to the conference not only will I not have that but I'll miss the first day of classes! So I just don't know...

Oh my goodness! Conference was so amazing! our entire group left just so on fire for the Lord! I definitely am coming back to my campus renewed and ready to start my Bible study. Seriously, I just regained so much of the joy that I seemed to have lost after a difficult semester. I feel like I want to stand on the green [our big space on campus that everybody walks by] and just tell everyone that passes how awesome our God is and what He has done!

Also, I heard that the lead singer from Third Day is considering converting to Catholicism, and that they loved playing for us. Yay!

I can't wait to see what is going to happen on campus this semester after such a wonderful start.

i would not be surprised at all about that. third day has played other Catholic events before and i believe that mac powell (the singer) has worked with matt maher on some projects. matt maher really has done an amazing job at working with some of the big christian music artists.

Probably not, I didn't stop by the Phatmass table. I did sit by the stage for a few of my meals. So---maybe we saw each other in passing. :)

Our largest captive audience for the entire weekend was a massive 8 people. The largest crowd of any performance on that stage. Yay.

That might have been my group. We filled up a whole table one of the days---I think it was Thursday. But other than that, there wasn't much of an audience. I liked what I did hear though--I just wasn't down in the exhibit hall a whole lot.

And they are way more broke too, haha.
I agree. I think it was mostly the ridiculous resort prices. $3 for a 20 oz. bottle of Coke or water or juice. I was pretty much broke by the end.

mmm....and the $8 sandwiches! At least they had Subway/Dominos, although those prices still weren't great---only $2 for a coke!
