Old_Joe, Iggy, and I have a lot of contacts with FOCUS. If you need anyone to be pushed a bit, we may be able to help.

God bless,

I sent a couple e-mails to the few places I could find on the website. If there's anyone y'all can talk to that can make the decision to get phatmass:

1) a booth to sell t-shirts and hand out brochures
2) stage time to perform for one or more than one of the phatmass hip-hop groups (Manchild, Sammy Blaze, P5C, etc, etc)

That would be awesome.

Stage time might be a little hard to get, as they probably already have all that booked.

There's a FOCUS facebook group, run by a friend of mine. You should join it and see if you can talk about this with them.

Ummm...actually, I'm pretty certain the last national conference had over 2000 students...and the three regional conferences last year totaled something like 2400...

When I went to the national conference in Denver (2005), it was about 1800.

I am so excited for this conference! My campus is far away from other FOCUS campuses [we are the only one in Florida....the closest ones to us are Vanderbilt and a school in Virginia, so its really great for us to see other FOCUS people. Besides, the conference itself is just going to be awesome! Plus, I'll get to see all the people I met on the mission trip I went on with FOCUS.

There's a FOCUS group in South Alabama. That's a little closer than Vanderbilt, eh? Not much, but some...

Troy University has it.

Well, I was excited because I do happen to like Third Day...

I do see your point.

However, it does make sense for a national conference to want to have a big name band doesn't it? Yes. Why do they want famous people to speak in addition to your average Joe who could give a talk that is equally powerful? People who might make the decision just because their favorite band will be there are probably some of the ones who could benefit most from being there.

Also, there will be Catholic bands there as well. The full list just isn't out yet.

If you complain about Protestant bands performing for Catholics, then you can't really complain about Catholic bands not performing for Protestants. I know thats probably not really exactly how you meant it, but we shouldn't not consider them because they aren't Catholic and we are upset that there aren't any Catholic bands as famous as they are.
