The Bayside Prophecies

I had just finished reading a sig that was edited by the mod's here about The Bayside Prophecies. These photos and arguments seem to be quite apparent and deceptive. I have spent an hour on the "photograph miracles" page and this is seems to be a person who couldn't take the fact that The Church didnt authenticate her apparition. So, therefore , its almost like a new religion. Lets get some talk on this because these prophecies seem to be pretty old, but some of it looks brand new to me.

For those invloved in this disscussion that have not heard of The Bayside Prophecies, becareful that you are not blown about by their every wind of doctrine.

For starters, this is morbid, these are quotes from Christ telling Veronica and her followers that The Catholic Church is falling away.

yeah, don't even link to them. not only are we called not to spread their literature (ie their website), we are also urged not to read it.

It is a condemned apparition, not just an unapproved one. No one of the faithful is permitted to believe in them or support them in any way. Their argument that the bishop acted against canon law is unfounded; they claim that he didn't investigate them thoroughly enough, but that is not up to them to decide. He investigated them as he is required to do by canon law before condemning them, he consulted the CDF, and he legitimately condemned them and forbid the faithful from supporting them. Fully canonically legitimate.

Thanks Al, I didn't realize that since I've read their stuff (out of morbid curiosity). They are at times disturbing and at times unbelievably lame, but always bizarre.

I hope it is not going too far to post a couple of their "miraculous photos" to illustrate the oddity of their obsessions.

My favorite are the "ball of redemption" images, for example:

"Ball of Redemption hovers over statue of Our Lady"

"A Rosary being held aloft symbolically holds back the Ball of Redemption"

"Typical Ball of Redemption"

"The Ball's appearance baffled everyone"

Ok, so am I the only one who would dare suggest that this "ball of redemption" is a finger in the way of the camera's lense?
haha, yes, it's totally obvious.
Another thing that bothers me is that they produce a lot of extreme radtrad propaganda of the poorest quality. It gives authentic traditionalism a bad name because all too often they don't even come close to getting their facts straight (to say nothing of the fact that they hold the authentic authority of the Church in contempt). There are too many historical and factual errors that are rampant in traditionalist literature (typically of the radical sort).

:rolling:

Are these "ball of redemption" photos "for real," or is this somebody's parody or satire?
(I sure pray it's the latter!)

Interestingly, "balls of redemption" have often mysteriously shown up in my own photos when my finger clumsily got in the way of the lense. I had not then understood their full spiritual significance!

Maybe their motto should be (with due respect to AC/DC) "We've got the biggest balls of them all!"

Oh it's "real" alright. This kind of carp is on their official website. The captions are from there as well. :lol_roll:

And people wonder why the Bishop condemned these "apparitions".

The captions too? You've got to be kidding! :lol_roll:
(pm me a link please - I still can't believe this!)

What's sad is that a condemnation from the Bishop is even needed for this lame joke!

Hey, this is New York City. So many of the people there are so spiritually starving, they'll eat rocks if you tell them it's bread.
