Brigid
I read it last night! my little brother got it around two, and finished it by the time I got back from babysitting. I knew I wouldn't have any time today to read it, and I wanted to know what happened, so I read it last night. I thought rowling was brilliant with the way she satisfied those who wanted harry to die, and those who didn't... basically, I thought it was really good.
authors don't write to satisfy readers. they shouldn't write the plot with that primary goal anyway. they should write from the heart. i just took that class from joseph pearce.... *sigh*

kateri05
A very Catholic book
it totally was!! i mean, as much as i've liked the series and seen positive themes throughout, i dont think that i would have said that before. but harry's shining moment is SO Christlike its not even funny. and i mean, he finds out in what i thought was a cold way. i mean, i think that dumbledore gave snape that memory deliberately coldly so harry would know what to do (for the greater good) but harry is just like, ok, this bites, but here i go. and, even tho he's gonna do it, hes still scared. which is so agony in the garden. and its so sad but BELIEVABLE the kinds of questions he asks the people who appear. and i also love snape's total redemption. very peter vs. judas, i think (think peter pettigrew). its not exact, but in reality, eveything has been based on a real love, even tho his own personal insecurities have been getting in the way with how much he sees james in harry. inspiring. brilliant. i think i might have to read it again today

I really only buy most books because I don't want to have to return them within a given time period .... My plan is to read all seven in a row in August. I promise. For you, longer, since you have a few more distractions than I do. But I should be able to make good headway on a simple Latin curriculum and read the books. jmjtina
I finished it Saturday morning as well! I must admit though, I read that last chapter first. It was a good read. I admit though, I was a bit disappointed in it, but oh well, the movie should make up for it! That's going to be one heck of a movie! I did think it was brilliant to
name one of his sons Albus Servus after Dumbledore and Snape! And the fact that Ginny and Harry marry and Ron and Hermonie marry! AWWWWWW. Sojourner
I totally was happy about Snape ... it's very cool that he did what was right even though everyone hated him so much. I also like how Dumbledore was so careful to not help Draco be worse than his upbringing had taught him to be, and took care to be sure his soul wouldn't be overly harmed by the events overall. That was so wonderful ... sometimes it's easy to assume people will act a certain way because they're "bad" or "good." This really illustrated the idea that we all have both capabilities in us, but that we choose whether to do the good or the bad. I love that ... Jaime
I was so shocked when Dumbledore came back to life and helped Harry fight the Orcs. That will look pretty cool when it becomes a movie. But man I was not expecting that! Oh and I found a typo.

(note the orc reference) I did find a grammar error though, at the start of one of the chapters. I didn't highlight it though.
