Cleaning Out The Garage

So, I cleaned out the garage today... last chance to do it before it becomes unbearably hot. Our trash was collected this morning and the garbage bin is already overflowing again. I decided the carpet remnent (ie mouse hotel) was no longer worth keeping... and there was so much carp in the third stall it wasn't funny.

Yes, we have a three car garage....
It needed to be done... (though I think I may have cleaned it out once already this year....)
the bikes, scooters, trikes, kiddy cars, tennis rackets, roller blades, soccer balls, bats, lawn mowers, garden hoses, snow blowers, camping chairs and old baby equipment were so literally tangled up and piled up they were unusable.... It's better now... but sheesh, what a mess... I wonder where in the world we put all that stuff when RussianGirl still lived here and parked there.... :idontknow:

Yeah... the garage is sort of like the last stop before the trash....
"Okay box of junk, you live out here in the garage for awhile... No, you aren't going to come back in the house... sorry... but don't worry. It may be years before I find you and toss you out... I hope you like mice and spiders... Good luck and godspeed!"

Our garage is like my dad's secret evil lair...except neither secret nor evil. He does a lot of his work in there, and it's completely full of work-related paraphernalia like paint tubs and tools and stuff. I have no idea how he organizes it, I can barely keep from getting lost when I go in there. But it's meticulously organized and he can tell if I've taken a screwdriver to borrow and put it back because he always knows where everything is. It's kind of scary, actually. And then part of it is just storage, an extra fridge with a ton of stuff in there (Korean houses always have at least two fridges, or sometimes two with an extra kimchi fridge, or in smaller households, one with a kimchi fridge), and our washer and dryer. Our junk room is our extra room, formerly computer room, and even then it's all storage. My mom's big on throwing away or donating what you know for sure you won't be using and then organizing the daylights out of everything else...it's a happy marriage, the entire house is organized but for my room. hehe.

My parents have two outbuildings full of carp. And by full I mean FULL. and by carp I mean C R A P.

I keep hoping they'll clean it out, but they've lived there for almost 20 years and not touched it ... once :ohno:
