jswranch
All, I need some primary sources that the Reformation period was not the first time bibles were translated out of Latin into English and German. I attend a weekly ecumenical history and theology group. I meet with Orthodox, Calvinists, Reformed, Evangelicals, Lutherans etc. At a recent discussion on the reformation I counterd that Luther was not the first to put the bible in german. I received much deer in the headlights looks. Can some of you provide me with some links to pictures of pre-Reformation non-Latin bibles or detailed publishing info? Thanks, John

thessalonian
Here is a post I did some time ago about the issue. It should help. Note the comments from "A catholic bible commentary" by Knecht a ways down the page.
