Which do you use when referring to addressing the third Person of the Holy Trinity in English?

JMJ
7/16 - Our Lady of Mt. Carmel

Either is an acceptable translation of "spiritus", though "ghost" tends to conjur up images of the Ghost of Christmas Past in modern English.

I don't know if "ghost" is a good translation of the Greek "pneuma", but "spirit" is.

I heard Fr. Pacwa explain it once. I think "Ghost" comes from the old German word for Spirit, or something along those lines.

I added the poll, STM. If that was not what you had in mind or you want me to change it in some way, let me know.

Same here. I prefer Holy Spirit.
