experience the resurrection of Christ. If fasting pushes the flesh down,
prayer raises it up again. It enables the body to be truly fruitful in the
Spirit.

Chastity makes both the church and society fruitful in an outward way. For
the Church, it brings forth Sobriety. An acceptance that it is possible to
be 'crucified with Christ'. It brings forth fruitfulness in the works and
and the mission of the Church. True evangelization, not being possible
without great chastity.

For the world, it brings forth justice. True justice, where the fruitfulness
of man, instead of merely satisfying his own passions, is directed towards
the building of a civilization of love in the world. This includes a
stewardship of the whole of creation, where man can look at a blade of grass
or fishes that make their way through the waters or lions in the field and
witness that he has indeed made all things fruitful.

Fasting Burns Away Impurity

I have come to my garden, my sister, my bride;
I gather my myrrh and my spices,
I eat my honey and my sweetmeats,
I drink my wine and my milk.

Eat, friends; drink! Drink freely of love!

The pain of fasting purges away impurity and brings a sexual equilibrium.

For the person, who is enlightened by a human soul, the first object
of sexuality is God himself. Whether it be a Virgin or Married spouse,
for sexuality to be in equilibrium, for sexuality to be pure, it must
be in God. And when it is in God, then the person is given a paradise.

Fasting, and only Fasting, together with prayer and sacrifices, brings
about a complete sexual equilibrium in man. One in which the whole
person has embraced an ordered sexuality and is thereby transformed.

I have tried to start this topic on PH twice, maybe this is the way to do so. Fasting that is! As far as chastity goes, I for one, feel great sympathy for all males! Men have it bad with a sex saturated society. .... I wish that we could all truly understand Gods plan for our sexuality. I am truly sorry for this cross that you bare....rememeber you do not have to bare it alone! I will pray for you! JC

I agree with talking to a priest about it too and being humble - pray that the Lord leads you to the right Priest to talk to and to be able to help you.
Also, know that Our Lady is protecting you in her mantle of love!

PS Pray for my little bro -- he's right in the middle of a ton of sexual impurity (he's 16).

Echoing that is what its about!........... Wow I came back to this topic and it is somewhat dead in the water!!!!!! I think its the word" FAST" I'm not sure though???? I mention fasting in any thing and the topic seems to drop off! CRAZY
This topic is very important though! It should be talked about more often. I hope that you are doing okay and have found some peace. As far as fasting goes though, I heard a priest say it best. When we fast,we train ourselves,in self control. Self control is the single most important thing in making moral choices. Fasting not only clears our mind on the importance of knowing true consumption. Over Consumption of anything,even sex can be damaging to the soul. Men have to truly be dilligent and guard there souls from what society says is okay!
The fact that you are willing to aknowledge it and seek some answers for this is admirable. Instead of sitting back in silence and falling prey to it!
I think that they should pin a thread on "phatmass phasting" Once a month we ALL should fast a day for an intention. Maybe the Popes???? Pick a day, pick a prayer,pick an intention! but thats just me! JC

Fasting and penance are certainly ways to fight this! Also, since the principal aim of pornography is to show women as mere objects of sexual pleasure, (and I'm pretty much saying again what I said before, I think), if the thoughts/images are persisting in your mind, try to counteract it by consciously bringing yourself into the thought, seeing the woman as [b]person[/b] and offering your struggles for her conversion as well.
