Groo the Wanderer
or at least had Chuck Norris with them. He would ripped the bears into 42 pieces and had a cookout with the boys. Then whacked 'em himself for dissing the Lord.

veritasluxmea
Neither. Elisha had the gift of "calling the bears" (prophecy?) and he misused it. He was free to do with his gifts and talents as he wanted, like us all. God later rebuked him for it. So no, God did not send the bears and He didn't want the boys mauled. He couldn't have prevented it because of Elisha's free will.
dairygirl4u2c
in the real world (this is the bible, not the real world), the bears would have gotten a victim or two and have been satisfied. as a practical matter, to kill as many as they did, the bears would have had to hustle. the kids would have started running away, so the bears would have to maul, run to catch, maul, run to catch, repeat. it's very unrealistic when you think about it. but this is coming from the same bible that says that the story of noah was world wide and had two of every animal on the earth. and that adam was a real person with a geneology from him to Jesus etc. (not to mention the contradictions the bible has, which at best are plausible, but realistically are better called contradictions)

People will say the Incarnation, Passion, and Resurrection of Christ is unrealistic. Others will say the universe appearing out of nowhere with a Big Bang and in complete order is unrealistic. Either way what we know is that to believe in the origins of life we're going to reach a point where reason can only go so far and where faith will be needed inorder to continue believing. CatherineM
I saw a bear today. On the side of the road just outside of Jasper. Just a black one, not a grizzly.
veritasluxmea
My uncle has been bear hunting before. He used to live in Alaska. I also once met a guy who worked as a bear hunting guide in Alaska. He had this really funny story about how a bear almost killed him.
