Thanks :) :) I eagerly await the list. Thanks again. It is highly appreciated!
Hey, St. Benedict, looking over your blog again, I think it would be the best to simply write Discalced Carmelite Nuns, and then the place, instead of writing out the whole name, eg Monastery of the Holy Family and St. Therese (Georgetown Carmel)

For instance the Domincan Nuns in Summit you have listed, would then be also Monastery of Our Lady of the Rosary. So here's some great Carmels to list. The ones that don't have a site, I've linked to my google album.

EXCELLENT!!! I'll add the list to the blog tomorrow (It's 11 PM almost here). Can you please also create a list of non-discalced carmelites with the ones from Valparaiso, Buffalo, NY, Alexandria, SD & Brooklyn, NY on the list?

How would you label each of these if you follow the same pattern of name, place. Are all of these nuns or are some religious sisters?

Discalced Carmelites of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph in Valparaiso, Nebraska
Discalced Carmelite Sisters of Seremban, Malaysia
Discalced Carmelites of St. Joseph in Terre Haute, IN
Discalced Carmelites of St. Louis
Discalced Carmelites of the Byzantine Catholic Church

I edited some of the Benedictines and Dominicans on the women's religious list. If there are any problems with the naming, please let me know. Thanks again.
Can I please ask the help of Phatmass members? I am still in the process of updating Holy Vocations Blog and adding new writers. I now want to make one more edit of the list of religious order before I join the seminary. While in the seminary, I can not work on blogs.

Please look at the orders listed in the sidebar under "Vocation Links: Women" and "Vocation Links: Men". If you have any suggestions on other orders to add, please reply below. :priest: Thanks
Please list the Lockport Dominicans:
Dominican Contemplative Sisters Monastery of the Heart of Jesus

Links to them:

Under the Vocations General Section, I'd definitely put a link to Gemma's sight, which has truly exhaustive lists of most of the contemplative communities in the world - http://cloisters.tripod.com/

particularly here: http://cloisters.tripod.com/id76.html

I'm not sure what you're asking regarding putting them in the same list as these Carmels, but here are 2 OCarm Carmels that look very good and are on the IRL site.

Carmelite Nuns of the Ancient Observance, Coopersburg, PA

Carmelite Nuns of the Ancient Observance, Wahpeton, ND

The Passionist Nuns in St. Louis are also great. I visited them before. The Canons of the New Jerusalem offer the Tridentine Mass for them every Sunday.

Passionist Nuns, St. Louis, MO

Also, there are plenty more great Poor Clare communities you could add. Really, if you list all the great communities for women, that list is going to get l o n g You may want to just keep to a few and then be sure to put Gemma's site there, and also IRL which you have to cover your bases. :j

But here's a few more PCs you might consider adding, and the correct new link to OLAM

PCPAs

Poor Clare Nuns of Perpetual Adoration, Black Canyon City, AZ

Poor Clare Nuns of Perpetual Adoration, Hanceville, AL

Poor Clare Nuns of Perpetual Adoration, Portsmouth, OH

PCCs

Poor Clare Colettines, Belleville, IL

Poor Clare Colettines, Los Altos Hills, CA

Poor Clare Colettines, Minooka, IL

Poor Clare Colettines, Palos Park, IL

Poor Clare Colettines, Rockford, IL

There's plenty of other great ones too .. Again, be sure to have a link to Gemma's site.

Also, I'd definitely add the Norbertine Canonesses, Tehachapi, CA

God bless!
There are orthodox Roman Catholics who attend the Novus Ordo, you know. :) Non-traditional (or less traditional) is not synonymous with unorthodox.
Yes, I completely concur with this statement. Most of these communities here have the Mass of Pope Paul VI, and are very traditional. But being very traditional is not synonymous with orthodoxy/complete loyalty to the Magisterium which is of foremost importance.
"The celebration of the Mass according to the Missal of Paul VI will be able to demonstrate, more powerfully than has been the case hitherto, the sacrality which attracts many people to the former usage. The most sure guarantee that the Missal of Paul VI can unite parish communities and be loved by them consists in its being celebrated with great reverence in harmony with the liturgical directives. This will bring out the spiritual richness and the theological depth of this Missal ... There is no contradiction between the two editions of the Roman Missal." - from Pope Benedict's letter about the Motu Proprio
What would the new name be for these that are already listed in the sidebar under Carmelites?

Carmelite Monastery of the Sacred Hearts (http://www.sistersofcarmel.org/)
Carmelite Sisters of the Divine Heart of Jesus (http://www.carmelitedcj.org/index.asp)
Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart (http://carmelitegeneralate.homestead.com/)

I've added almost all of the suggestions, but I still need to find time to add the Poor Clares to the sidebar. After I finish work on the motu proprio news, I want to add them.

Marieteresa

St. Benedict, it might not be a good idea to list the sisters of carmel on your site because of their questionable status.

Thanks for catching that! If someone does find out that they are in Communion with Rome, please leave a note on Holy Vocations or, even better, send me a PM. I'd love to add them to the sidebar, but I want to make sure they are in Communion with the Church first.
Could you tell me some more about the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration. Do they all wear habits? Any Latin Mass or prayers in Latin? :lol_roll:

Also, what is the official name of the Carmelites in Terre Haute. I'll be adding them to the sidebar too!
The Sister wear habits. Not all the older sisters wear the same habit, but all wear a modified form of the franciscan habit! Look at the website.
As for Latin Mass, no, we celebrate the Novus Ordo Mass in English. Sometimes we say prayers or sing hymns in Latin, but most of the time it's in English.
