What dorm should I request? I know it probably wont matter, because all the girl's housing is completely full... they said they only have like 10 beds open right now. But i figure it cant hurt to request one and pray that I get in :-)

What are the pro's and con's of the girls dorms. I know Elizabeth is the newest, but newest doesnt always mean best... any opinions?

I just attended a lecture given by Michael Miller who received his master's degree in philosophy from FUS.

I doubt you'll get into Elizabeth, most new Freshman students get put either in Tommy More or Marian Hall. I believe Elizabeth is already filled because they are moving all the Trinity East students into Elizabeth. Claire Hall is great (that's where I lived my last semester living on campus) but it's difficult to get into because it's a newer dorm. Sadly older students have the advantage of getting the good dorms. My fave dorm I think I lived in was Scotus!!! It's on lower campus and only 16 girls live in the Hall, 4 to a room but they are big rooms with a private bathroom!!! The girls of that Hall are really close and its like a little family!!

I would try Scotus first, then Tommy More (they did renovations not too long ago), and then Marian

Marian Hall - very small rooms and no closest space, umm lots of common rooms to play in lol Another Pro!! The boys of Trinity Hall will sing to you at night time lol

Tommy More - a ton of people! 5 story building, pretty small rooms as well, but there is always something fun going on in Tommy More and if you decide to stay living in Tommy More there is a possibility that you'll get to move into one of the lofts which are completely AWESOME! Like mini appartments ^_^

Scotus - umm it's on lower campus (just right down the hill from the main campus) Pro's - coffee house right next door lol, there is the porch which is awesome to sit out on during the Spring and Fall, Only 16 girls which gives you a close knit group!! BIG rooms! And private bathrooms!!

Padua- it's away from the rest of lower campus and main campus, it's next to Damons and the Holiday Inn which isn't safe for girls to walk around there at night time alone. Pretty big rooms, and private bathrooms

Claire Hall - bathrooms are right across from the common rooms which have glass windows which you can practically see right into the bathrooms!! Strict quiet hours lol Pretty good size rooms, nice chapel, wonderful households ^_^ (I lived on the Lambs wing they are awesome girls!) Heating and Cooling in the building is awesome!!!!

Elizabeth Hall - not too sure since it's not completed yet, I'm guessing it will be similar to Claire Hall

Yeah... I heard poor Jared still hasn't passed spanish yet...
Yep, "Operation Rosetta Stone" failed sadly.
The Knights are still the same to me - random, funny, crazy -- I wouldn't call them prettyboys.
Aaand, Fr. Don Calloway is an honarary member too!!! He looked awesome with this KHQ armor!
Ah, the smell. When I first came to Steubenville it was literally unbearable. When the smell would strike I could not be outside without gagging. I think it seems to lessen after a while because you get used to it. When I was new I would complain of the smell and people who lived here would say, "I don't smell anything".
On occasion someone new to town will make a comment about the smell and I am now forced to admit that I don't smell anything most of the time.

Although, when I'm up late at night (like three or four in the morning) the smell appears with a vengeance and there is no way one could not smell it or gag over it.

As far as the water, it's hard to say how bad it is. I know that once a year I get a letter from the city which states that federal legislation requires this letter be sent to residents to inform you that the water does not meet EPA standards, blah, blah, blah. It goes on to give levels of heavy metals, volatile organic compounds, etc. It's freaky enough to keep me from drinking the stuff (although I did for years).
I have known women who experienced miscarriages until they stopped drinking the water. This could be a coincidence, but I tend to doubt it.
small hijack
I am very surprised the mills are allowed to get away with this. I have lived in a steel mill town all my life, and have never had that experience. Anytime the mills had any kind of gas emission the EPA was fining them thousands of dollars and hour til the scrubbers were fixed. Our only evidence was the fine dirt on the white houses and orange sky at night, but never a smell.

FUS is on my 'possible' list along with:
Grand Valley State University (right down the street from my house)
Aquinas College (also right down the street from my house)
U of Michigan (closer to home than FUS)

Aquinas is actually at the bottom of my list list because it is very expensive and it's Catholic in name only, know what I mean?
Grand Valley seems the most likely for me, because it's most affordable and right by my home. But we'll see where God is leading me, right? :)

FUS! FUS! FUS! FUS! GOOOOOO FUS!

...lol.

I've heard Michael Miller's name a couple times--he had a band at the school or something? But I've never met the guy.

If you're looking for a Catholic school that's actually Catholic but you're looking for a couple more majors...it's the place to be. :) Though, it does depend on your major...
