Thy Geekdom Come
As long as I kept my dorm room window closed the smell of burning tires was bearable.

P.S. - The smell was actually from the steel mill, but it smelled like burning tires to me.
It smelled like firework clouds to me.

It's gotten a lot better, even since I first arrived.
I must be getting used to the smell cause I only smell it about once a month lol
I think it varies from day to day. There are days when it smells fresh and nice out... and then others its one of those days where you exclaim "Man! It smells like Steubenville today!" I suppose there may also be a less pungent lingering "odor" all the time that you get used to, but I have been back to visit since leaving Steubie and not noticed it.

Totally a Franciscan U graduate! It's my alma mater now *sniff* I miss it from time to time ...
BUT today's Gospel at Mass totally reminded me why God called me off the hill.

I transferred to FUS from a Jesuit school in Seattle -- totally a dream come true bein at FUS.
I'm in Totus Tuus Maria household and was an English/Writing major.
Dislikes: I honestly don't think anything ... I grew to love every single thing I didn't like
Likes: The huge missionary zeal there (during Spring Break, we have about 100 students who go on a mission trip to places like Mexico, Honduras, Belize, and places in the States), Homeless Ministry, walking rosaries, the Port, going to the Abortion Clinic every Saturday morning, Father Dan Pattee, Father Don Calloway's Masses on Weds. nights and well all of the priests are amazing, having confession avail to you 4 days a week, having Sat. mass available to you, the random crazy people there, household life, FOP's, being able to see Jesus 24/7 at Adoration at the Port ... yeah my list can honestly go on forever ...
Congrats on being accepted Chelsea!! I'm prayin for you girl!
I thought about adding, "get a room," but then I thought you might actually do it, being married and all, and that's just too vulgar.

So then I thought about saying, "oh, gross...get out of here...go make babies or something," but I didn't.
ok, so noone commented on this, but i will. just WAIT until you're married, micah, just you wait :smokey:

Yeah, seriously! LOL I've gotta admit, all the L_D & Luthien lovey-dovey comments make me chuckle a little. I remember what it was like being a newlywed (not that I, myself, have been married soooo long, 5 years isn't THAT long). What you don't always realize then is how much your love can and will grow over time (at least for me, I wasn't consciously aware of the fact. I felt full and bursting at the seams with love and joy, I don't think it occurred to me that it could and would get better, stronger). I know I'm not as bubbly-goofy about it as I used to be (and probably not as revealing about it in "public" as some people are), but I know I feel that love profoundly and I'm STILL constantly reminded how much more I love Matt each day, how proud I am of him and to be his wife--and how lucky I am!

teehee. Married people are so cute.

Anyway...I never thought the smell of Steubenville was overall SO bad...then again, I live pretty close to LA, where you can see the smog, and it ain't pretty! There were a couple of mornings where it stunk to high heaven, sure, but it wasn't always so bad...

I think what I meant to say is that it makes me chuckle a little because I know how that feels, and it rocks. But I got sidetracked and didn't really say that last part clearly. lol

I know people who drink the water (filtered with a brita fiddler or similar), but I'm pampered (raised on well water) so I never liked the way it tasted. The smell really isn't so awful. Like I said, there are bad days here and there but most of the time you don't notice anything.

I'm not bubbly-goofy when we go grocery shopping.

Oh and the air bothers me. So does the water thing. And townies(we live down the road from some crackhouses)

I do like a lot of the people here though, don't get me wrong. If youre a student youre all set, campus is great. If youre not a student, well, yeah.

:lol_roll: Don't worry, Jen and I have already agreed that we're gonna be the family with 12 kids sitting in the front pew at Mass.

Anyone who knows me should know I have no problem with bubbley-lovey-dovey stuff. I love Jen very much and want every part of marriage.

Can't wait to be married. :)
