Yeah, I took kids. They loved it. They kept repeating the "bus, bus, bus, bus...who's on it..." song the whole way home (thanks <_< :P:).

We probably even saw each other and didn't even know it. Shame.

What stuff are you involved in?
What are you majoring in?

and i know this is going to sound silly but...

there are so many ministries that it would be probably something better answered by a phone call to the staff or the website franciscan.edu.

but here goes... I was involved in the pro life ministry, and had the pleasure of meeting some of the Sisters of Life order (they have a pro life song of mine that they use to evangelize now), and was blessed to have met and been trained for sidewalk counseling at abortion clinics by world renown pro life leader Monsignor Reilly. Also, I met and heard a talk from Fr. Frank Pavone, founder of Priests for Life. This was all during this past fall 06-spring 07 school year and all at FUS.
I was a retreat leader for Franciscan University’s S.E.N.T. Ministries. S.E.N.T. (student evangelization network team) is a ministry that goes out and puts on retreats for high school youth, many times in high schools within a few hour radius of Steubenville. I led one retreat in both the fall and the spring of this past school year (06-07). I was involved in a few of the student-led street ministries of Franciscan University throughout the year. These all took place in the Pittsburgh area. They are intense and I know only some are called to it but I must tell you that I have grown from them, and feel they are important for the betterment of society. They were: 1) pro life ministry saturdays at the abortion clinic 2) red light ministry (strip clubs, adult bookstores/gay club) 3) homeless ministry (feeding and spending Thursday nights with the homeless). I was involved (as a musician) with a cd project put on by students at FUS that consisted of student-musicians. The proceeds from the cd went entirely to the local AIM pregnancy center (spring 07). There are many mission trips and things that occur during the breaks also.

Even with all that, I think what sets this campus apart from every other catholic college is the brotherhood and sisterhood within the context of household life. I look at households in many ways like lay religious orders. They all have they same goal of holiness and sainthood, yet all have different charisms and ways of life. Mine for instance is scripturally based, and in our household covenant we have 4 main pillars that we live by (Chastity, Purity, Humility, Evangelization). We have daily accountability, meeting with a member of the household every night to hold each other accountable for our actions. We have a scripture rosary (a verse to meditate on for each hail mary) on tuesday nights, go to mass together wed mornings, Bible study thursday nights, celebrate Lord's day together on Saturday's at 3pm, and have daily mass and weekly holy hour as commitments as well. That is not at all a prototype of households, each one is different.
All in all you will learn from experience more than from what anyone tells you

I'm so overwhelmed by the awesomeness of the school
I've visited it before, and I just felt so at home on the campus.

There are SO many things to get involved in. I really need to pray about where the Lord wants me to serve, because if i had a choice I'd be doing every single thing! haha.

I'm just so excited. Even though I'm not going until January, I'm still just like freaking out. In a good way, of course.

Don't get involved in too many things! You need to study you know. ;)

Whats neat about Steubenville is that you will already "know" a few people around here! I thought that was so awesome when I moved to this area, phatmass is so cool like that. ^_^
