And, I know Mary Magdalene was not officially a religious, but being the patroness of contemplatives I think that qualifies her to fit in the category. I'd definitely want to meet her.
I second Mary Magdalene. Saint Peter is probably my number one though.

my EVERYTHING!

Gosh... If I had the chance I would have to pray about it. :sign: Some of my votes would be St. Thomas Aquinas for his awesome love of God & the Eucharist, St. Philip Neri for his great joy and contagious love of God, St. Teresa de Jesus, Ste. Therese de l'Enfant Jesus et de la Ste-Face, and the list goes on...

The Holy Mother of God, Our Blessed Lady, the Virgin Mary - my first choice after Jesus! And if she wasn't available, I'd like to talk to St Joseph about our Beloved Savior and Lord! :rolleyes:

my EVERYTHING!

I thought of that too, but does Mary count as a religious? and St. Joseph isn't a priest or religious... Good Saint choices, though.

:rolleyes: OK ok ok - if you are going to be that strict - lol! Then St Teresa of Avila is my first choice, followed by St John of the Cross and then the Blessed Anne of St Bartholomew (she was St Teresa's constant companion, especially in the last years of her life -- St Teresa died in her arms).

Then Thomas a Kempis and Thomas Aquinas and St Augustine - all such brilliant men, and St Catherine of Sienna (who can go wrong with a Doctor of the Church?)

There are just so many wonderful religious and Saints - how does one choose? Impossible! Any of the Apostles would be wonderful of course, and of course St Paul - wouldn't you just love to talk to him about his miraculous conversion?

I think any time spent with anyone who is in Heaven would be just the most fantastic opportunity!

What a wonderful topic this is!!! :rolleyes:
I second that one!

Also, Bl. Jordan of Saxony, OP and Madeleva Wolff, CSC.
I have a book of her poems. Good stuff.

In fact, I'll post one here. It's about a Saint, so it's not terribly off topic.

PROUD BOAST

Inconstant Peter, what is this you dread,
This word a servant girl speaks scornfully,
"Surly thou wert with Him in Galilee:?
For shame! Whence has your vaunted courage fled;
Where now is your quick sword, unscabbarded?
What boast, O Simon, could more glorious be;
"Thou art of Christ; thy speech betrayeth thee"?
Damsel, this word of yours has been well said.

I charge you, have the selfsame thing to tell
Of me, when in the outer hall of death
I wait the end, inexorable and grim;
Proclaim then to the councilors of hell,
"This man with Jesus was, of Nazareth;
Even his dying speech betrayeth him."

3. ST. BERNARD OF CLAIRVAUX, so awesome...
4. St. Aelred of Rievaulx (I think he and I would get along...)
5. St. Augustine (Also think he and I would get along well...)
6. St. Bede the Venerable

johnnydigit

St. Peter - "What did you guys do between the Resurrection and Ascension?"
St. John the Baptist - "Do you remember leaping in the womb? What was it like in the desert?"

"Tell me everything."
