Guest Mencken
So, I have been trying to figure out a problem regarding free will. It is said that evil is a byproduct of free will. If humans are to be truly free, they must be able to choose the wrong as well as the right. God cannot make them choose good because this would deny their freedom. However, Christians believe that history is "going somewhere" - that in the end God's purposes will be served. So God can collectively make everything turn out right without denying peoples' free will. Why can't God do this with an individual? It seems like it would be easier with one person than with all of them together!
peach_cube
Image a world with a billion different outcomes. Insert the laws of physics that govern are motions, insert the creation, insert the Incarnate Word of God at a particular point at a particular time. These would truly change the outcome of the world without taking away the free will of those living in it.
