the_rev
Just htought I'd start something new, the completely useless fact of the day... and this is the completely useless fact today... In 1631, two London bible printers accidentally left the word "not" out of the seventh commandment, which then read, "Thou shalt commit adultery." This legendary book is now known as the "Wicked Bible." Maybe at the end of a month or 12 days, we could play a game with these facts...

VeraMaria
Angelo Roncalli, papal nuncio to France (and a future pope), was once invited to a formal banquet. His dinner companion wore an extremely low-cut dress, which the prelate pretended not to notice. When dessert was served, however, he selected a plump apple and duly offered it to the woman, who politely declined. "Please take it, madam," he pleaded. "It was only after Eve ate the apple that she became aware of how little she had on."

VeraMaria
Oh, and another Random fact During the nineteenth century, dogs were often put to work in restaurant kitchens, made to run in large wheels in order to turn spits roasting meat over a fire. While delivering a sermon in Bath one day, the Bishop of Gloucester uttered the line: "It was then that Ezekiel saw the wheel." At the mention of the word "wheel" several working dogs, brought to church as foot-warmers, bolted for the door!
