Sojourner
the anthropological argument was a good place to start. I'd offer to join in the fun but ... well, you seem to be holding your own.

XIX
Okay here's the okkam's razor version of the responses: 1, 2, 9, 10, 11) Just because God doesn't give us exactly what we ask for, doesn't mean that our requests fall on deaf ears or are unappreciated. Christians should not believe in a "Name it and claim it God." 3) This actually is evidence to the contrary, that the Greek religions were striving for the same God that we were. Whether they actually were going for that is an entire different story, but coincidental religions actually supports our argument, not yours. It proves that religion isn't just random PS: "Love your enemies" was pretty original, methinks. I don't think that would have gone over too well in ancient Sparta. 4) Doesn't prove anything, just your opinion that God gets in the way of science, based on the assumption that they can't even work together. This of course is a silly assumption. 5) Again this doesn't prove anything, just your opinion that the Bible promotes violence. Even if it does, that's not really evidence that God doesn't exist. PS: read the 10 commandments. 6) Just because God plans for something does not mean he causes it, wants it, or condones it. I can plan for a hurricane, but that does not mean I like hurricanes or want to contribute to them. 7, 12) Actually, Santa Clause is based on a real character by the name of St. Nicholas, but let's just assume for the sake of argument that we are referring to the fairy tale. a) Jesus existed. That is a historical and scientific fact. Whether He is God or merely a quack, is another story. But there is not a debate about whether Jesus existed. There isn't even a debate that Muhammad existed. Santa and the tooth fairy don't even exist. b) Dude, the tomb was empty. People saw Him after His crucifixion. People still see Him today. People died tortorous deaths because they saw Him. If that's not evidence that Jesus performs miracles, then I don't know what would be. c) Faith isn't blind. See a and b. PS: You clearly miss the point of prayer if you think that a coin flip is a proper analogy for a prayer intention. 8) You admitted that this isn't proof that God is imaginary, so let's move on. -------- It's shotty but it's remarkable how easy it is to debunk atheism sometimes. goldbug16
I think that these are so funny, are because they arent even logical. Saying, "Look at God's sexism" isnt a proof that God doesnt exist....

Aloysius
haha, and I'm gaining their trust by destroying your arguments : haha just playin. but it's always more effective to strengthen their arguments first before dismissing them, it shows them that someone can carry their argument to the strongest possible place and still disagree.
