mariahLVzJP2
its tough to find good Christian music that is indie rock-like. Does anybody know any?? Yes, Arcade Fire is great!
TheOliverOrder88
mewithoutYou is Indie-ish. I mean, if you can get past the vocals (which now I find amazing) they can fit really well. Discover America is on Tooth and Nail. He's not really Arcade Fire-like, but lands in that indie genre. Sufjan Stevens... well, maybe I am confusing "hipster" with "indie"... He's super Christian and a genius to go along with it.

I will check them out it doesn't necessarily have to be indie. I am just not into the trendy pop rock music that most Christian bands play. Liz Janes is with the same label and I have a couple of her CDs. Your friend might enjoy her as well. I also like Over the Rhine quite a bit ... they're a bit more mellow, but quite good.

Sojourner
I should note that both OTR and Liz wouldn't label themselves as Christian singers but rather as singers who are Christian. Their songs are not overtly Christian in the way CCM is, but as you listen there are definite signs of Christian influence in their songs.
Paladin D
Project 86, their first three albums were good, but their three newer albums stink.
Tony
some of the members of an indie band called Brandtson were in a Christian metal band called sexfeetdeep.. but Brandtson isn't a Christian group themselves

TheOliverOrder88
Are we confusing "indie" with "independent" because nowadays those are two different things? Project 86, while they are on an independent label, they are not "indie" in the sense of Arcade Fire... they land more on the hard rock side of things. mariahLVzJP2
i meant like Arcade Fire type of music that is labeled "indie" rock. I'm not a hard rock or metal fan. I enjoy "experimental indie" like Wolf Parade though. I don't know why we need these labels, but I do prefer music that happens to be called indie
Ragamuffin
You need to dig up a copy of The Prayer Chain's Mercury CD on eBay or something. That thing was way ahead of its time.
