Didymus
I'm hopin sometime this summer to be announcing in this thread that Church Militant is complete. We'll see how it goes; I have been on it much more now that school is done for summer. Anyways, I just updated the VIRB page with a short snippet of the title track. http://www.virb.com/crownandnails hope you enjoy! (I do really get quite ahead of myself on these things) rock on in Christ, Didymus+

ardent1
Can't wait to hear more material, D. I will ask St. Cecilia to pray for you and your hopes for this ministry.

Didymus
but why fade it so soon?
see now I'm thinking about addin something before that, but then it would make this a whole new second part of the song, so then I'd prolly have to put another solo in, and I'm really not so good with soloing in the first place. but you got me thinkin now. It's soundin quite metallica-ish.
misereremi
Hey, don't sell yourself short- you're good. The last bit where it fades could go into an "industrial" crescendo, it'd be a nice effect. maybe with a bit of distorsion and old- fashioned wah-wah... Ok, I'm going overboard on your outro... As an aside, people aren't into long solos anymore, what's up with that? I say bring them back.

I've been lucky so far with the 'soloing' I've managed to put into a couple of the songs. I'm okay when it's a slower section, but these shred solos take some work. As it is I'm gonna have to take a couple of weeks to practice just few bars of a lead line I want to put in other spots. But yeah, the song will actually go into that particular riff before this part you hear, and then it goes into a heavier version of it (which you don't hear yet because I have yet to throw down the drums) and then back into this little part. Didymus
I'll put the full versions of some songs up after they're done, but it would just sound weird if I posted a heavy part with no drums.

Rock on!
dude! in that case, I'm gonna send you a song when I'm done with this whole ordeal. I'm switchin out a song on the album called "Same Sacrifice." It's a short song as of now because I just have singing vocals, but I think it would sound pretty sweet with rap as well. I'm gonna throw another song on Church Militant to replace it because it sounds more along the lines of a linkin park song than the more classic genres of metal I was aiming for. You can prolly do more with it than I, so I'll pass it all to you when I'm done throwin down the basic ideas. thnx for the prayers Edited May 30, 2007 by Didymus
