IcePrincessKRS
I found out what it was in college because my professor wanted me to use it instead of putting the whole footnote all over again. I never knew what it was until then. I felt pretty foolish whenI found out. Then I used it constantly. Did you know that you shouldn't carry Ibid's over to the next page? IcePrincessKRS
Can you fill me in ??? When you put in a footnote entry, if the next one is for the same book you can type "Ibid," and then the page number instead of the whole footnote. "Ibid" also, I think, usually is in italics. IcePrincessKRS
At Christendom we didn't used MLA, we used Turabian.
jmjtina
the videos are so enlightening. I didn't know anyone could rap about MLA or books.
IcePrincessKRS
You know what the hardest book to footnote or bibliography is? The Bible. Seriously, everyone I know who wrote papers with the Bible as a ref. had trouble. Being an English major by the time I graduated I was a footnote pro, I didn't even need the Turabian book as a ref. when I wrote papers. I was uber. :P
God Conquers
I have Turabian. Bought it this semester.
IcePrincessKRS
This is the book I used most for my thesis: The Collected Tales and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe. (New York: The Modern Library, 1992), pg. Poe, Edgar Allan. The Collected Tales and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe. New York: The Modern Library, 1992. (The first would be a footnote, and the second bibliography. I had to cheat and look up the format from my old Turabian book, though, because its been about 2 years since I did any of that! lol) Ok, I feel like a HUGE nerd now. IcePrincessKRS
I have Turabian. Bought it this semester. How much do you hate it? lol Most people at Christendom really despised that book because they'd used MLA all during High school and then had to learn Turabian for their college papers.
