In The Arms of The Lord

I really enjoyed the black and white pictures of the Carmelite nuns on the Facebook page "Crazy4Nuns." Not just the austerity but also the mysteriousness of the life shown in these pictures. Very beautiful.

That video makes me so happy. :)

I especially love when they're at the bottom of the hill having a "Dominican discussion" about sledding techniques!

Dominican nuns are so lovely. They know when to be serious and when not to be. I wish we had them in the area that I live in.

(i know they are in here before somewhere, but some images are new)
'The Little Sisters of Consolation, (of the Sacred Heart and of the Holy Face)' was founded in 1989 and recognized in the diocese of Frejus-Toulon (Provence-France); religious Sisterhood "nuns-missionaries"in the spirit of Blessed Father de Foucauld, they have charism of desire to console at every moment of their lives the Sacred Heart of Jesus and his Holy Face, the visible expression of love and suffering of His Heart. They do this by opening a Contemplative life,in a MOanstery with cloitsre, towards an exterior apostolate, compatible with their prayer life.(say every day in the general community Office in Latin, rising at 1am for Matins/Vigils, Gregorian chant in the Mass, recite the rosary and adore the Blessed Sacrament,), faithful to the spirit of Father Charles de Foucauld. Their community life is very simple means, in imitation of the existence of Nazareths Evangelical family, under the patronage of the Holy Family. To foster an apostolate flexible and willing to radiate the love of The Sacred Heart with children (4-17 years patronage, orphans, catechism), young (home groups of retreatants, and pilgrimages, visiting the elderly sick).

The Little Sisters of the Consolation are beautiful! I love their habit. Their charism is absolutely magnificent; I love it. I really wish a) I lived in France b) They had sisters in the U. S. or c) spoke French because I really want to write to them. I wonder if they have any sisters that speak English..

I saw a Poor Clare nun at the mall with another sister (probably an extern because she wears a different yet traditional habit!). Probably they went to the doctor and took their lunch at the mall. Well I am not sure. The Poor Clare wears a traditional habit, and my, it was my first time to see a "monastic veil!" She looks so austere (it has the blinder effect, you know).

So in remembrance of that morning, I'm gonna post a picture of a Poor Clare :nunpray: :

The blog said this is an entrance ceremony probably in Manila.

Take care and God bless you! :priest:

That picture is not in Manila. It looks to have been taken in the 30's or 40's. The surroundings are European, probably England, but definitely not the Philippines.

yes, write to them in simple and grammatically correct English, and try to write a little something, like the salutation, in French, from online translation.(also, put 'Vocation question' on envelope after the name of monastery.)
You never know what the result will be of the Spirit moving you to write...at the very least, there prayers for you.
PAX.

These are the Sisters of the Company of the Cross.
Their charism seems really great:
