these are early pics of when the Capuchin Sisters of Nazareth, were called
Capuchin Recollect Sisters -1997-and were in New Bedford, i believe founding from one or 2 original Sisters going along to start the CFR Sisters back in the day with the CFR renewal of the capuchins..but eventually some left and started this..
"as they settle into their radically primitive lifestyle here after having left a more active (new) Capuchin convent in New York City."

the sisters depend "totally on Divine Providence". They don't even accept monetary donations for their ministry work in the field, missions and retreats, for example.
Candidates for membership in the community would spend anywhere from six months to two years as postulants, followed by a two-year novitiate, with simple or temporary vows taken usually in about four years. A college education would not be required.
Why is Sister Superior called "sister" rather than "mother" as is the practice in other orders? She says the sense of being "minority" -- someone of no importance -- is strong in the Franciscans. "I'm a sister with a special job. Oh, I'm motherly in my concerns about the sisters, about nurturing them, but I'm not above them."
These were taken when they were living in the huge convent at St. Anthony parish in New Beford Ma. Now they are in PA www.capuchinsisters.org and the Franciscan Sisters of Mary Immaculate just moved into the 3rd floor. The 2nd floor is being used by a program for at risk children. That's how big the convent is. It was built for 40 sisters!
These pictures make the convent look nice but sadly, it needs a huge amount of work.
The parish is so beautiful:www.saintanthonynewbedford.org
I invite you to take their online tour and see how beautiful the church is.
Please pray for the pastor,Fr. Roger Landry, a longtime friend of mine, who is struggling to revitalize the parish both materially AND especially, spiritually.

Lack of vocations. (They should see my main site's hit counters)!

I know them!!! I used to pass their convent every day on my way to class (In Rome)! I even talked to a few of them once. They have one convent that is right behind the Vatican walls, about halfway up Vatican Hill.

What a small Catholic world it is

These are picutures of the nuns of the "Order of most Holy Annunciation" (Monache dell' Ordine della Santissima Annunziata) also known as "monache celesti" or "monache turchine"
This is a contemplative cloisterd order founded by the blessed Maria Vittoria De Fornari Strata in 1604 in Genoa (Italy).
The word "celeste" in italian language means "of the color of the sky" wich is the color of thei habit.

Hey I think this last group, Daughters of Mary Mother of Our Savior, are sedevacantist

On their website one of the requirements to join is : "Belong to the traditional Catholic Faith and not be associated with the Novus Ordo Church, schismatic groups, or groups with doubtful sacraments. "

Also their founder seems to be a sedevacantist bishop : Bishop Clarence Kelly
