Must be atrociously bad sandals. I wear sandals all the time and my feet are simply calloused. That scares any desire to be discalced straight out of me!

Did she have osteoporosis? It looks painful.

EDIT:

I found the answer:
You never hear about that suffering of hers.
and she constantly walked and climbed stairs, never complained..if you see the Documentary by the Petri sisters, amazing..
pax!

Cool! Lily, where'd you find this picture? Looks like they changed the habits slightly, to a brown scapular. I like it! Like the Carmelites! :j

Though, maybe that's how their habits used to look, like during apostolic work - as on the CMRI site, I see a sister with the brown scapular also, in the classroom picture. Or maybe only the perpetually professed wear it.

These are the CMRI "Singing Nuns." Included may be some who left, but this is of the CMRI, not SMMC sisters. CMRI nuns wear blue and brown scapulars.

Mother Angelica always tells her sisters that you have to be very specific with God when you pray - especially when you pray to the Divine Child Jesus. So now you've got some specifics for Him ^_^
