Sr Mary Catharine OP

I saw this picture from the ones of Fr. Philippe's funeral. She is a OP but what congregation. Cappa UNDER her guimpe! Good heavens! Who ever heard of that! I know that there is a new congregation of OP Sisters that wear the full coif in the Toulouse Province. They were at the 01 General Chapter as translators but weren't supposed to be there. There was some communication mix up. Do you know what congregation they could be? SMC

The OP Sisters I'm talking about are not nuns but sisters and they are "traditional" in the broader sense. They're not 62 Missal (I'm trying to get used to saying that and not Tridentine!) as far as I know. I don't think they are associated with the FSVF's with whom I've had contact as we sent them many sets of OP breviaries. Thanks!
All it means is that OP nuns and friars NEVER wear their cappa (the black mantle) UNDER the cape or guimpe the way this sister is wearing it in the picture! Sometimes, when an aspirant comes for the 1st few days she goes crazy trying to figure out the "monastery" language! I guess it's a dialect of the "Catholic" language!
