To me there's not alot of difference between you and them. When my husband [recently retired] and myself hear from friends over there we hear how much it grates to hear stuff like that constantly blaring from the media. You never hear about them building schools, providing healthcare, helping to get electricity restored...none of the good things, only the the rough realities of war. So just as Fred Phelps pains the families in their soldier's death, people like you pain the soldier at war with your words and behavior. War ain't pretty or neat, whoever gave you that idea was very wrong. But the guys who volunteered for military service did so because they believe in what they are doing. It is a true vocation. If some joined for another motive, that's pretty sad because they got a wake-up call during this war. Believe it or not most of the guys WANT to be there with their brothers, not back here at a desk job. So unless you are in the military and living it from the real view, I don't think you'll ever truly understand. Oh, and I am aware of the few belly-achers who are crying, deserting, marching in the anti-war rallies. They probably wouldn't be deemed fit to go to war anyway with that kind of mentality. Their brothers need someone who would go the last mile with them, not someone who would panic and run.

Witness Mary-Kathryn's post above. You COMPLETELY disregarded what she said and turned your focus on Groo and the others who have been cracking jokes. You do this all the time. I don't try to debate you because I am not going to waste my time trying to have a discussion with someone who ignores the say-so of the people who are on the Active Duty Military side of the issue. You trumpet main stream media news articles and ignore the words coming from the men (and their families) who are actually serving "on the front line." 1337 k4th0l1x0r
The biggest problem I've had with foreign military actions is that we have yet to capture Osama bin Ladin. He was behind one of the vilest attacks on American soil and he's still loose six years later. It's not like the guy is laying completely low. He releases a videotape every few months. Instead he's safely tucked away in Pakistan, which will probably see a Talibanesque uprising in the next decade and bin Ladin will once again have a base of operations. We should have declared war against Al Qaeda and obliterated them. Instead our soldiers are getting blown up by Al Qaeda members who were recruited after the invasion of Iraq. Securing the country will take a very long time. It's akin to ending gang violence in American cities. You'd never get things perfect, but eventually you'd destroy the majority of the structure after several decades.
