beatty07
Support your seminarians! Watch my movie! http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...eoid=2026860857 Hey y'all. I produced this video for Mundelein Seminary's end of the year Coffeehouse show. It's 5:30 in length. If you remember Reeboks "Terry Tate: Office Linebacker" commercials, then you'll know where the idea comes from. We're pretty proud of it, so feel free to email it to everyone you know. Especially Vatican officials. And voting members of the Oscar people. Sorry it's only on one of our myspace pages right now, so many of us can't watch it... should be on YouTube by later tonight. If you want, I'll be happy to email it. just let me know at beatty07@yahoo.com. "Seminary formation is all about the pain, baby!" "I ask you: what could be more ascetical than a savage beatdown?" Mateo el Feo
I want to compliment the video for being exceptional in its: 1) bad acting; 2) iffy camera work; and 3) an utter disregard for the limits of tolerance for slapstick humor. I think it qualifies for, "So bad, it's good." My favorite quote: "We can do this one of two ways: you profess Chalcedon, or you take a beatin'." That's awesome! I also liked the Seminarian playing computer solitaire during class.

Can I also just point out that the "epiclesis dance" with accompanying tackle is in our practice chapel, not in a consecrated sanctuary with a tabernacle. I'm a little worried about "outsiders" wondering about that, or about the lame chalice and stuff.
philosophette
That is awesome. I live near the Sem and I laughed my bum off.... too funny. What did ya'll use to film and edit it?
beatty07
Thanks for the feedback everybody! philosobrat, it was filmed with a pretty decent Hi8 camera... nice amateur gear. Video editing was entirely with Windows Movie Maker, the free application that I think is factory-installed on pretty much every PC. Sound editing and voiceover was done with Cakewalk Sonar 6 PE, which is pro level software. Most of what you here, though, is just the cameras microphone, not very good. I was really surprised how versatile windows movie maker is and how easy it was to learn. I never really dealt with anything like this before, and it was extremely easy to pick up. Needless to say, it looks and sounds a whole lot better when it isn't a super-compressed 10megabyte internet video.
beatty07
oh, how could I forget the most important single piece of gear? Coffee! Massive amounts of Coffee required to stay up for 40 hours!

If I were still single, I might have stolen his dance moves and started a new dance craze. Edited May 5, 2007 by Mateo el Feo
