Pick a site that is not filed with hardcore catholic haters and has decent moderators.

We could ask pick a time to invade yahoo catholic chat, but only as a group.

We also have to spend as much time praying as we do apologetics.

Cool, I'm glad you are on board Jeff along with StColette and cmotherofpirl. We are going to need a good core group to hit the tipping point and reach critical mass. If we can get this core group it will be the bomb. I just wish Phatcatholic was around this weekend so we could get things going more. I think the next step is to recruit people, make some basic plans, and make some goals. The last two I think we need Phatcatholic around for but I think we can start talking to people about this. So I guess we can start by asking people if they are interested. If anyone is reading this and interested please give a post that you are interested. Keep in mind;
1. recruit members
--i'll probably make one thread here, and then link to it in the other boards at phatmass. we need to let every single person here know about this. i wonder if it would be ok to send a mass-PM to every member. also, we need to encouarage anyone that would be willing, even if they are not totally secure in their apologetics. pairing up is a great idea, and i consider it a must.

2. pair up
--we'll give it a couple weeks for everyone to sign up, then you and i can work together on how to pair people together. since we seem to share a common vision and b/c you are involved in apologetics, i would like for you to be involved w/ this process. do you have any ideas on how to pair people together?

6. BUST OUT THE SWORDS AND START CHOPPIN HEADS!!! HOO-RAHHHH! :shield:

how's that sound cure? what does everyone else think? maaaaan, i'm freakin pumped.

holla back,
phatcatholic

ps: LAUDDOM!! get in on this or i'm huntin U DOWN!!
This is right on target.

As for the pairing up I think we could come up with 5-6 questions to find strenghts and weaknesses and then try to pair up so that the pair can fill each others gaps. I think most questions would deal with what knowledge someone has, with a couple others thrown in on personality type, and style of response. It wont not be a perfit science but at least there will be some logic behind the team.

If two people would like to be paired together on their own I would not be against this.

Sounds sweet, I'm in...except I have one concern...If we as Catholics try to convert Protestants/non-Catholics it will not happen. A conversion of ones heart and soul is acomplished merely by the Holy Spirit. I am a convert to the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church, and I know what it feels like when someone trys to convert you with force. What drew me to the Church is Her Love and the revelation of Truth through Her.

I think for this mission we must remember one thing, this should drive us with every conversation, every debate, every sucess, every fail, it should be our motto, the motto for all Apologetics...

Hey guys, I'm not really sure if this is a good idea or not, but just a thought:

Every once in a while someone will post a link to a protestant forum where they're defending the Church, and everytime I go check these debates out, the catholics are WAY outnumbered. This kind of makes me skeptical as to whether or not a pair is really gonna cut it for taking on a site.

Then I started thinking about it, and what if we just got together our group of like 5-8 people and all worked together, one site at a time. I kind of feel like with a group that sized of solid, orthodox catholics we could really become a force to be reckoned with.

I know it may take longer, but I think we may, in the long run, get more done, especially considering the fact that if such and such a person is sort of "out of commission" for a couple days, their will be plenty of people to pick up the slack.

I dunno what you guys think of the idea, but I was just thinking that it might be better for everyone involved to start small, work as a unified group, and take this one step at a time, since we really don't want to mess this up or make serious mistakes.

Also, thywillbedone7, I completely agree 100%!

I agree. I think we need to take this kind of attitude to this;
The immediate aim of the outdoor work is not conversions; or at least these are not the measure of our success. We long for, and work for, the conversion of England, like any other Catholic society; but we have no secret of whole-sale conversions. We have simply faced a big task and decided on a common-sense method.
We have proposed to ourselves a long job: to spread a knowledge of the truth and to kill lies; a steady humdrum sort of job that has to be done--whether as a vocation or a duty. Big results will come in time, but we sow with no expectation of seeing the harvest. A ready analogy is to be found in the great cathedrals which took centuries to build, and yet each man did his part of the work none the less earnestly and lovingly. The Guild is no place for those who cannot keep on without the stimulus of great results, and the cheaper sort of optimist will find the work wearying. As we are not unduly elated by conversions, so we are not unduly depressed by the lack of them.
I'm debating on the FCFC board, Phatcatholic and Zach are also there as well. A couple more Catholics on that board wouldn't hurt.
