phatcatholic
i divided the "Morality and Ethics" entry into two. part one contains the nature of sin and the issues that pertain to sexuality. part two contains the remaining moral and ethical issues. i was filled to the max while this was all in one entry. now that i have two, i have more room in each one to add more stuff. oh, and i know that i have much work to do w/ the reference section (fixing links, making new entries, etc.). i have been very busy defending catholicism on other boards. however, i will try to address these tasks as soon as possible. pax christi, phatcatholic

Guest JeffCR07
Hey phat, I don't know if you've covered this anywhere else, but do you have info on the Rites of the Church? I know tons of faithful catholics who don't even know that they exist, let alone the first little thing about them all. I kind of think it is something that is important to the faith and maybe we should put something up on phatmass about it. Also, if you need me to do anything at all, I would be more than happy to help! You're doing a great job. - Your Brother In Christ, Jeff
Cure of Ars
This is a dead link in the Morality section part one; "What Catholic Teens Need to Know About Sex" Kinda sad I wanted to read that. But anyhow, I think we need to take things to another level around here. What that other level is I don't know?

What that other level is I don't know?
what do u have in mind? personally, i'm thinkin i may need to take on an assistant. either that, or quit my apologetic efforts on other websites and devote my time solely to phatmass. i just know that i'm fallin behind on alot of things that i want to get done here. then again, maybe i place on myself a sense of expediency that is not there. i dunno, what do u all think? jeff...............i hear ya about an entry on the Rites of the Church. that would be cool, but i have other things to finish first that are a higher priority. cmom.............w/ the prayer entry, i have an idea. since an that compiles prayers and devotions is not very apologetic in nature, an entry like that would be better in the "Werd" board. in the apo board, i could do an entry that explains alot of our prayers, what they mean, where they come from, the history of devotion and stuff like that which better lends itself to apologetics. what do u think? holla back pham, phatcatholic

Cure of Ars
I am just kind of brainstorming at this point. I think this is just one of many things that could be done to take things to the next level. What I have been thinking is that we need to start taking the offensive. I think there is a need for a systematic attack to bring the light of Christ to the darkest places on the internet. I think there is a lot of Catholic who are defending the faith but it is not organized. We could be more effective if we worked together more. What I’m thinking is kind of like the old street guilds but for the Internet. This forum would be like the home fort/ammo dump. We could have people sign up to go to different web sites. I think it would be cool to pair people off. Maybe pair those who do not have as much experience with apologetics with someone who does. Here are some other random ideas. -Encourage more people to get really involved with defending the faith. -The best way to learn apologetics is by doing it. Defending the faith can be emotionally taxing and if one is not strong in their faith it could be dangerous. By being a part of a group it helps counteract the dangers and hardships of apologetics. -Make commitment for devotions, prayers, conduct, and study that will help us spiritually so that we can be open to the Holy Spirit working through us. -Combine our prayers so that our apologetics will be more effective. -Refer people to Phatmass who seem open to the faith so that they will have more contact with others who are in love with Christ. -Have a weekly status report on how things are going on that web site. Report on the trials and successes. -Post links to the sites that we are on so that others can look at the debates and give constructive criticism and encouragement. Have a list of people who are actually out there defending and were they are at. -Organize specific arguments that can be used to spread the truth without having to remake the wheel. -It would help to know that there are others doing the same type of work and we could help motivate each other and build comradeship. -Target secular websites with Little Christian influance This may be too ambitious but we could probably start small. Anyone have the rules to the old apologetic guilds?
phatcatholic
dude, all i gotta say is.............................AMEN! that was totally my vision when i proposed the idea for this board. i am all about every single idea you had. i tried it in the beginning, but it didn't really catch on. knowing that you have the same vision really encourages me. plus, since this board has picked up alot more in the last month or two, i think more people will hop on board. here is a tentative plan of action: 1. recruit members --i'll probably make one thread here, and then link to it in the other boards at phatmass. we need to let every single person here know about this. i wonder if it would be ok to send a mass-PM to every member. also, we need to encouarage anyone that would be willing, even if they are not totally secure in their apologetics. pairing up is a great idea, and i consider it a must. 2. pair up --we'll give it a couple weeks for everyone to sign up, then you and i can work together on how to pair people together. since we seem to share a common vision and b/c you are involved in apologetics, i would like for you to be involved w/ this process. do you have any ideas on how to pair people together? 3. designate "floaters" --i think we should have at least two or three people who aren't designated to one site. instead, they can float from site to site, oversee everyone's efforts, send them pointers, help out when necessary, and field questions here at headquarters. what do u think? 4. outline enemy territory --next, we'll make a list of where we want to send our teams. i definitely don't think we should hit FCFC right away. that is, unless we just want to teach em to swim by throwin em in the ocean! granted, some people learn how to swim that way, but i don't care. its too dangerous. 5. assign teams to each site --should we let people pick the site they are going to, or assign them ourselves? am i getting way too detailed w/ all of this. i'm probably gonna need you to help me keep from making this more complicated then it is (i have a tendency to do that) 6. BUST OUT THE SWORDS AND START CHOPPIN HEADS!!! HOO-RAHHHH! how's that sound cure? what does everyone else think? maaaaan, i'm freakin pumped. holla back, phatcatholic ps: LAUDDOM!! get in on this or i'm huntin U DOWN!!
