phatcatholic
pham, since i am at the half-way point of this grand attempt to compile the best in catholic apologetics, i would like to take this time to tell you what's new, tell you what i have left to do, and hopefully get some suggestions from you all on how to make this board and the reference section better. WHAT'S NEW first off, i switched the title and description for each entry in the reference section so that the topics will be easier to read/find and they will appear in a search request (props to dUSt for that suggestion). also, you can now add attachments to your posts in this board, like u can in the debate board Lil Red Devil, that's for you girl! also, in each entry, you will also notice that articles which pertain to a particular verse in the bible are in bold font. this way, if you need info on an often-contested verse from scripture, you will be able to quickly find any articles on this verse when u skim thru the entry. finally, notice that at the end of each entry is a section of Audio Downloads. these will be helpful when u are engaged in dialogue w/ a person who is less inclined to read articles (especially long ones). that's for all my "i learn better by listening to others" peeps. WHAT TO EXPECT first off, i have the following topics left to finish: --Confirmation --Marriage --Holy Orders --Anointing of the Sick --Salvation --Last Things --Non-Catholic Groups --Anti-Catholicism --Practical Apologetics --Fathers Know Best notice that i am following the same order as Catholic Answers. i thought that since those who are new to Catholicism often see that site first, when they come here they will feel at home. plus, its just a helpful format to follow. however, my entries will be much more comprehensive (of course ) after these, i plan on tackling some secondary topics that have been suggested by a few phatmass members. they include: --History of the Catholic Church --Theology of the Body also, i plan on going back into each entry and making a section for "Church Documents" besides just the Catechism. i think that will be very helpful. YOUR SUGGESTIONS what do you all think about all of this? do you have any ideas on how to make it better? any other entries you want to see besides the ones i have mentioned? too many articles? not enough articles? holla back and let me know. i will try to accomodate or at least consider each suggestion in conjunction w/ the amount of energy and patience i happen to have at the time (shew!). also, i like the idea of making the reference section on the first page, and have the posts on the second page. what do u guys think? just let me know..... phatcatholic
Sweet! If I can help gather info or anything let me know. ya know, if u want to go ahead and gather info on Theology of the Body or History of the Catholic Church, that would be helpful. then the info will be ready and the pham won't have to wait on me to finish w/ the other entries first. here's a list of the main sites i go to: --Catholic Biblical Apologetics --Catholic Answers --Scripture Catholic --Biblical Evidence for Catholicism --Catholic United for the Faith (go to the Faith Facts section) --Catholic Pages (go to the Truth section) --Nazareth Resource Library --EWTN Document Library --EWTN Audio Library --Catholic Culture Library --One Faith Reference Materials --Traditional Catholic Apologetics --Defenders of the Catholic Faith (Steve Ray's Writings) --Catholic Outlook --Mark Shea's Sheavings --St. Borromeo Faith Section (I'm Glad You Asked) --St. Borromeo Faith Section (To Tell You the Whole Truth) --Knights of Columbus Luke E. Hart Series --Knights of Columbus Veritas Series --Corunum Apologetics --Catholic Exchange Truth Facts --Catholic Exchange Library --Catholic Educator's Resource Center --Domestic Church (Articles and Essays) --Turris Fortis Catholic Apologetics --The Coming Home Network the easiest thing for u to do will probably be to make a word document where u can just paste links to articles and other info as u find it. then, when ur done, u can make a post and add the word doc as an attachment or cut and past the links into a post. thanks bro for anything u are able to do, phatcatholic
