see, there we will have to agree to disagree ... I like them better with the additions. Guess I am a fancy pants.

The cookies are better than the dough, but the dough is good too. Chocolate chip cookies ftw! (It's a new acronym I learned... for the win. I know, I'm so last year.) Nuts and raisins in cookies are evil beyond compare. The best is just baked, soft but not undercooked chocolate chip cookies with NO NUTS.
OK, so I made cookies today and my housemate and I had a discussion we've had a couple of times before. She loves to eat dough of any kind, but I don't do it often. Raw cookie dough is OK but I am ambivalent about it. I think it's because my mom had a salmonella phobia when we were kids and we could never eat the dough raw because of the raw eggs in it. My housemate has no such compunctions. So where do you stand!
My dad was always paranoid about salmonella (still is, actually), so he didn't like for me to just eat the dough. But I really like cookie dough much better than the actual cookies, usually. My solution? Leave out the egg and add more milk! :) As long as you aren't planning on baking the dough, it works fine. My roommate and I used to just sit on the couch with a bowl of cookie dough and a movie, actually.
I'll tell you what's obscene to have in cookies: raisins. I mean that is just freakin' wrong. If you're going to indulge in cookies, don't try to skimp and make them all pseudo healthy like. That's just pointless.
So that some days when it's just nutso around here (and by "here" I mean someone else's house, of course), I (I mean, "some poor mom") can hand her child an oatmeal raisin cookie and a glass of milk and feel satisfied that breakfast has been served....

And why not? It's a complete breakfast, all in one handy little package.

Oatmeal
Raisins
Brown sugar
Eggs
Milk

All good for you stuff.

I'm just stubborn and figured out how to get around the rule (with my mom's help on that one, actually) :lol_roll: But thanks. :)

And this is the justification my mom gives for eating pumpkin pie for breakfast in the fall (and of course the one I try to use for Red Velvet cake, but that one doesn't work quite as well for some reason) :idontknow:

Cookie dough in ice cream is safe. Pre-packaged stuff is probably pasteurized, so I could handle that. Otherwise, you might as well lick the bottom of a chicken coupe.
