The cookies are better than the dough, but the dough is good too. Chocolate chip cookies ftw! (It's a new acronym I learned... for the win. I know, I'm so last year.) Nuts and raisins in cookies are evil beyond compare. The best is just baked, soft but not undercooked chocolate chip cookies with NO NUTS.

My dad was always paranoid about salmonella (still is, actually), so he didn't like for me to just eat the dough. But I really like cookie dough much better than the actual cookies, usually. My solution? Leave out the egg and add more milk! As long as you aren't planning on baking the dough, it works fine. My roommate and I used to just sit on the couch with a bowl of cookie dough and a movie, actually.

Cookie dough in ice cream is safe. Pre-packaged stuff is probably pasteurized, so I could handle that. Otherwise, you might as well lick the bottom of a chicken coupe.
