tate4242
As an update to this thread, I Dennis Tate, have declared myself a candidate to become National Leader of the Canadian Christian Heritage Party. If you feel that I have made any statements that would make me a poor choice for this position I invite you to quote my writings into the official Christian Heritage Party message board forum where I have announced my candidacy: Here is a thread where I announce my support for equal public funding for Catholic or Protestant or Jewish schools comparable to the level of funding where the rather silly idea of atheistic evolutionary theory and its implications in secular humanism is enforced: http://cv.11.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?p=8996#8996 CANADA'S CATHOLIC REVIVAL

The fate of the Christian Heritage Party depends on your being more fully informed on this subject. Thank you for considering our ideas. It all has to do with vegetation and sunlight. When sun light hits a plant, it causes a process which we call photosynthesis where the energy from the sun light creates oxygen for us to breath, water for us to drink, and is stored as sugar for plants and animals to use. When the same sun light hits the soil, all of its energy turns into heat and is radiated back into the atmosphere, carried away by running surface water such as rain fall, is carried away to other areas by our winds, and diffuses down into the soil towards the earth's crust. All of this warms our planet increasing its average temperature.” “Therefore, the less vegetation you have on the planet, the more sunlight is being turned into heat and the warmer the planet becomes. This is very critical because warmer and dryer winds dry out other land areas faster decreasing the vegetation on those land areas. Less humidity in the air also reflects less sun light back out into space so that more sun light strikes the earth and more heat is generated….” “The truth is that you can do more to decrease global warming by just reducing the average temperature for the Sahara Desert by one or two degrees than if we humans completely quit using fossil fuels and returned to the cave….” “So, how would you start working to resolve this problem? Easy, cool the deserts and get some vegetation growing on them as soon as possible. But the method is much more complex than that. You have to use the prevailing trade winds in relation to the deserts to get the best results as quickly as possible and it will be extremely expensive….” “Then we build desalination plants along the coast near these water sheds and pipe water to the tops or ridges of the water sheds…” “This will do a number of things. First, it will increase the moisture in the desert soil so that it will develop water tables and water will begin to run in the streams. This water will increase the amount of vegetation in the area and decrease the amount of heat being generated by sun light cooling the watered area and all areas down wind of the watered area. As more available water evaporates, it will cool the air and reflect more sun light back out into space cooling the area even more. Cooler and more humid air will have less of a heating effect on areas down wind and will reflect more sun light back into space in those areas cooling areas we won't be watering yet. Cooler and more humid air will also have less of a warming effect on our seas and oceans.” “Rain water running off of cooler soil will decrease the heating effect on our oceans and our planet crusts which will decrease catastrophic storm activities for other areas and seismic activity for the entire planet. Also, returning more ocean water to the surface and aquifers of our continents will lower the sea levels providing more usable land for us to farm and build on.” “With cooler desert areas and increasing vegetation, less water will evaporate from our deserts increasing the amount of surface water even more and increasing the amount of vegetation and animal life by huge amounts because deserts currently take up more than 20% of our land surface. Populations will be able to spread out and there will be less competition for existing land areas.” “This strategy has to be done in steps with the first step being to begin slowing the rate at which our global warming is increasing. We need to focus on that until we have brought it to a point to where the temperature is not increasing any more and is reasonably stable. While we are doing this, we need to come to a global consensus of just how cool we want to cool our planet down to. If we cool it down too much, we will begin to have devastatingly harsh winters in large populated areas and even cause an ice age to set in.” “Then we begin cooling the planet down to a point which will be most beneficial for all countries or the planet as a whole. We need to gradually bring the temperature down because there may be a lag effect in which the planet will continue cooling after we stop increasing our efforts to cool it off more. We may even want to stop cooling the planet once or twice before we reach our targeted temperatures to see if there is a lag effect…” “We need to start working on this as soon as possible because, if the planet reaches a point to where it is warming faster than our technology can possibly stop or reverse this warming trend, then our planet is lost and all life will cease to exist on this planet within a relatively short period of time. We will need to start with the largest and hottest deserts because cooling them will have the greatest benefit in the least time (Global Warming II by biologist Carl Cantrell).” Mr. Cantrell has agreed to become an official co-applicant along with me in my submissions for your Virgin Earth award. My primary contribution will be to figure out a method to PAY for this project which as Mr. Cantrell has stated, “will be extremely expensive.” In “Anti-Armageddon Paradigm Shift Monetary Policy Theory – The Introduction” I stated that you Sir Richard, or perhaps the Roman Catholic Pontiff were two of the most logical choices to FINANCE this possible remedy for global warming. I shall attempt in a later writing to elaborate on a method whereby perhaps I may be able to finance this project myself through an organized barter and film production company that works in cooperation with several other film production cooperatives and/or companies. Here is a brief outline of how this could be done." (Dennis Tate, me, 2008) I also highly recommend the explanation for global warming offered by Dr. Chaim Tejman: http://www.grandunifiedtheory.org.il/globalW1.htm ... I agree that green house gases of and by themselves are not the threat, higher levels of these merely keep the heat in our atmosphere, they do not cause the heat which comes from a number of sources: 1. A natural heating trend associated with the life cycle of our sun. The average temperature on the surface of Mars is up by 1.17 degrees on average from 1975 - 1995. 2. Desertification. As the world's deserts continue to grow the sand absorbs tremendous levels of heat. Quote: Just take a look at any satellite picture of the earth showing heat and you will see that our deserts are the warmest spots on the planet by far. More heat is being generated by just one of the top four or five deserts than by all of our cities combined. Carl Cantrell 3. Industrialization. Although the deserts may be putting out vastly more heat than our cities, industries and our cars, they still do put out a considerable amount of heat. 4. Deforestation. In one way our nasty habit of clear cutting is increasing global warming indirectly because the forests have the power to cool our environent when they are healthy. The sun striking a deforested area generates vastly more heat than if it hit an area with a healthy cover of trees.
tate4242
Here is Mr. Rod Taylor's reply:
Dear Mr. Tate: Thank you for writing me. I appreciate your sincere interest in dialogue and I must say that your thesis makes much more sense than the greenhouse gas approach. There are a number of good reasons to fight desertification---protecting topsoil and species diversity as well as sustaining food production are some. The concept that this may also stabilize or moderate global temperatures seems reasonable to me. I would like to look into this in more depth. Please stay in touch. Rod Taylor CHP Environment Critic
I found his response to be INCREDIBLY ENCOURAGING! After all, how can we go wrong by doing our best to fulfill these scriptures:
The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.
(Isaiah)
Then shall the lame [man] leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.
(Isaiah)
I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the shittah tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, [and] the pine, and the box tree together:

The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, [and] rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.

For the LORD shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.

Then said he unto me, These waters issue out toward the east country, and go down into the desert, and go into the sea: [which being] brought forth into the sea, the waters shall be healed.
(Ezekiel 47)

Apotheoun
I do what I can in order to stop the threat of global warming, e.g., I told my students that I could turn the thermostat up on the air conditioner at the school if they would simply agree to stop breathing during class. tate4242
Since we're perhaps contributing but not causing global warming, I really don't see us stopping it.
If desertification accounts for perhaps 15% to 40% of global warming then by reversing desertification we would indeed be able to substancially reduce global warming. If the world's desert are the main cause of global warming then Mr. Cantrell's theory of even being able to reverse global warming and initiate a period of global cooling is entirely possible. One thing that we know for certain is that most of the Kyoto Accord methods will not work over the short term. Even if North America and Europe reduced it output of greenhouse gas emissions by 50% over the next twenty years, we can rest assured that China and India, at the rate that their economies are growing would probably put enough emissions to totally offset any gains that might be made here! The fact that vegetation not only initiates global cooling, but also even eats up green house gas emissions as well as providing hungry people with food means that this is a win - win- win sort of proposal! tate4242
I do what I can in order to stop the threat of global warming, e.g., I told my students that I could turn the thermostat up on the air conditioner at the school if they would simply agree to stop breathing during class.
I know that this sounds like a strange question but i think that we humans might turn out to be more of a carbon sink than we might at first imagine, but this will depend on if we are buried or cremated?! If we are cremated much of our carbon will go back into the atmosphere almost immediately. If we are buried it could take centuries for the carbon in our bodies to make its way back. By eating more and dying bigger and making sure that our loved ones purchase a truly secure casket we could all accomplish something quite considerable toward reducing our carbon footprint?! I bet you hadn't heard that theory before did you? Thank you all for your prayers because I think that I'm getting a little clearer and more succinct at explaining this subject:
I believe firmly that if we tackle climate change in an ineffective manner, over the next century probably at least one billion billion people may lose their lives unnecessarily! ...a huge percentage of the actual heat going into the atmosphere is being generated by the world's deserts. Satellite images show that the world's deserts are putting VASTLY more heat into the atmosphere than ALL THE CITIES of the world combined. Greening the deserts has a huge number of benefits. 1.Plants use up CO2 so if you take an area of the earth that has little vegetation, turn it green with any form of plants, we know that those plants will use up CO2. 2. In the afternoon the Sahara may be 40 degrees Celcius or higher. By the next morning previous to sunrise that same area may be near the freezing point. What happened? Because that area has no vegetation the heat from the sun that is absorbed by the desert sand or rock is easily dissipated into the atmosphere. If we turn this area green with plants I assume partly because plants absorb so much water the plants tend to hold the heat in so that MUCH LESS goes into the air. 3. If we turn the deserts green through desalination and irrigation the water table will significantly rise which will mean that this water is no longer in the ocean threatening coastal communities. I personally strongly suspect that turning the deserts green IS THE ONLY possible method to reverse the melting trend in the ARctic, Greenland, the Antarctic or in mountainous glaciers. I agree that greening the deserts is only ONE PART of the solution and finding alternative sources of energy is also critical. But because turning the deserts green is probably the most effective short term solution TO ACTUALLY REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF HEAT GOING INTO THE ATMOSPHERE it may be the only possible method of RAPIDLY preventing further melting of Arctic, Greenland, Antarctic, or glacier ice! I believe that roughly fifty percent of funds invested in combatting climate change over the next three to five decades, SHOULD BE INVESTED IN TURNING THE DESERTS GREEN. 4. By turning the deserts green we can produce FOOD. If we alter the world banking and money supply system to put enough money into the hands of people who would be extremely interested in purchasing more food, it is possible to offset most, or even ALL of the costs of greening the deserts! 5. I love the idea of constructing a system of concrete trenches and pumping salt ocean water into this system of trenches. If we engage in aquaculture, produce many species of salt water fish in this area, then if we set up the trenches in such a way that solar energy is used to naturally evaporate the water, then if we catch the evaporated water and drip it into the surrounding area, we could theoretically grow fish and get fresh water into the desert at the same time! This system of concrete trenches should be just on the down side of the first major ridge of hills or mountains away from the ocean so that the water going into the desert flows AWAY FROM the ocean and tends to stay in the desert. Perhaps ten miles away in an even lower area a spring will break forth and a natural oasis will form! Every cubic meter of H2O that is somewhere in the Sahara water table....IS NOT GOING TO BE ON TOP OF FLORIDA!
http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/topic.ph...9663&ref=mf Topic: Let's keep Florida ABOVE SEA LEVEL!!!! tate4242
This topic is somewhat off to the side but I do believe that some of the new ideas of theoretical physicists, such as String Theory, and the Cyclic Model of the Universe imply that perhaps God has been experimenting and getting better and better at the creation of worlds and universes over infinite time. If God has been working for eternity previous to the creation of Adam then how much value does God really place on a human life? Could God place nearly infinite value on each human life?????? If so then this would be a great reason for more of us to advocate turning the deserts green in an effort to feed the hungry at the same time that we reduce the danger from rising ocean levels. Dennis Tate
A group of Catholic patriots have done an amazing job of informing millions of people in North America about the flaws in our monetary policy! http://www.michaeljournal.org/lincolnkennedy.htm
In 1972, the United States Treasury Department was asked to compute the amount of interest that would have been paid if that 400 million dollars would have been borrowed at interest instead of being issued by Abraham Lincoln. They did some computations, and a few weeks later, the United States Treasury Department said the United States Government saved 4 billion dollars in interest because Lincoln had created his own money. So you can about imagine how much the Government has paid and how much we owe solely on the basis of interest.
