Heh, well, since people are already mentioning St. Valentine's Day, and Bro. Adam wrote a sweet mushy message to his wife, I thought it would be funny to share some funny/cute/sweet stories about the little things. Not big plans for St. V-day, but everyday things.

Occasionally when I'm out I will buy Matthew a boquet of white roses. I jokingly tell him that someone in this relationship has to buy the other flowers and since he doesn't usually think of it it may as well be me. :P

Today I had him run out and pick up some babyfood for me, and he came home with what he called a little "pre-Valentine's day present"--now many of you may think his gift was kind of weird, but I was tickled. He got me a little cactus. :)

and he doesn't like soul food, but he didn't complain about the fried chicken, collards, corn bread, candied yams, and fried corn.

Darn... you're better off than I am! I'd have to kill Matt first if I wanted to get him to eat collard greens!

Jon bought toilet paper today.

Oh cr@p, that's amesome! I would get my crush toilet paper for Valentine's Day, y'know, since it's cheap and all, but I'd probably just get a punch to the face instead of a kiss. punch.gif

To share or not?

I saw you in a dream last night,

You're body covered in moon and mist,

You're feet standing on strands of air,

Dew cascading down your hair.

I never dared to move or speak,

But stood, silent as a statue of old,

A mute reminder of a love so strong

It held me captivated all night long.

if you kill him, he can't eat anything ;). Trivk him...tell him they're green meat.

Maybe if I made a stuffing with it and wrapped it in chicken... I bet that would trick him... at least for the first bite....

Thanks. :)

I was going to post another, but when I asked him which he'd prefer I put up he chose that one because its shorter. I guess I could share another if you want. :P

Matt is the writer, btw, I couldn't write a decent poem to save my life. lol

You come down the shimmering steps of sunset

To me, time is still and we have never met.

For I am just now seeing you with eyes

I have made it past the facades and lies.

For every man tries to hide his essence

Instead of revealing it with people present.

They have a soul to protect and shield

Old scars and wounds that time has healed.

Yet, still both of us are scared and shy

Something in both of us had to die.

So we could stand here, moving to the song

That will keep us captivated all night long.

You shimmer before me, dark locks of hair

Eyes glittering, you no longer care.

Both of us are dancing across the floor,

Through the hall and out the door.

Gazing down, our eyes have locked,

Every secret desire is unblocked.

All great struggles fade to past

We have taken each other at last.

I pull you close, a sweet ray of light

The darkness has ended, as has our night.

I bow to the rising sun, then to you.

We've reach the dance's end, only to begin anew.

Now come on, I know that there's other people who do sweet things for their spouses or whose spouses do sweet things for them. SHARE. :P
