Contraception In A Mixed Marriage

OK. I don't quite know how to answer this question posed to me, so I'm asking for some guidance here.

Catholic man married to protestant woman in the Church. Both agree that life begins at conception. Catholic husband follows Church and God on teachings about contraception. Prot wife takes the pills and sees no problems with it.

Catholic husband wishes to avoid the sin of contraception, but also to remain faithful to wife and marriage vows by exchanging the marital embrace (semi) regularly. Can this be accomplished by abstinence during the week she is 'fertile'?

Advised taking this to the parish priest as a couple for discussion, but prot wife not open to this. <_<

Arguments for:
1. similar to NFP, on the part of the husband
2. seems to nullify the contraceptive action of the pills
3. does not force the wife into something she is not in favor of (stopping the pills)

Arguments against:
1. possible he still guilty of the sin of contraception
2. interferes with marital relationship

Help please. I don't wanna give bad advice here. :idontknow:

PS - he IS trying to get her to see the light, but it may take some time
