Budge
I wish you would go deeper on this thread then just basically calling me a liar. These are my sincere viewpoints. You can disagree with them if you want, but just shouting "falsehoods!", really isnt doing very much.
KnightofChrist
Most of the times you are bought to silence when I or a fellow catholic post scripture which counters your falsehoods.
Budge
I am the only Bible Christian poster {christian of fundamentalist bent} on this board, sometimes with 10plus threads Im posting on. Sometimes I cnoose not to continue a debate, why is that a problem for you? That doesnt mean you "won" the debate and I bowed out because of your overwhelming answers. Sometimes it means I said what needed to be said.

But you have not you've ducked and ran. As you do with all that defeat your falsehoods...

KnightofChrist
Look, see I care about you sister, I pray for you, and all of phatmass... if you would but spend less time just posting negitives all the time and more time actually responding and really trying to then that would be better. It simpley does not look honest when you do not answer good and great retorts to your posts. You could have time to respond, really respond... I belive you have no answer, because the truth can not be questioned. Christ brought those that debated Him to silence because He spoke truth. When you post something that is a falsehood, and you have no answer, and the facts greatly lean that you were wrong, why not admit to that? Gene Church
I will be pleased to see a daughter (or son) of mine called to religious life. I am more concerned about the false claims by Budge of Catholicism being a false religion. Strange, but the glass appears half empty.
Gene Church
Oh, and thank goodness that Budge does not represent the Church (at this time). If only she'd been better catechized.

HeavenlyCalling
I may be wrong, but I do believe that a number of the Sisters of Mary are converts to Catholism. Budge, how do you explain that? People whoo have not, as you put it, grow up with 'pressure to enter the convent'?
Budge
In this harsh world that is descending into evil, young people are looking for answers and while they are well-intentioned and honestly seeking after God, they can fall into false religions. I would think the convent would be an attractive alternative to a girl brought up in secular culture, who has NOT been given any Biblical foundation. Why wouldnt it be? Instant community, answers, an automatic purpose for life--all of these things are very attractice and inviting, only problem is, it is based on false religious precepts. It is different from the regular world, that they have enough consicence to realize is going down the chute fast.

I suppose you would say that their embrace of Catholicism and of the religious life was simply a rebellious reaction to their strict upbringing? This phenomenon (fundamentalist to nun) does exist.
