Paladin D
One thing that turns me off ANY person who calls themselves Chrisitan is the posting or writing letters to cover up a swear word. I think some people do it without thinking...please think about what is says about you as a person;) I apologize if I offended you or anyone else. I tend to get angry, it's a way for me to vent. :(

Brother Adam
Alright you Catholics, I see I'm going to have to train you in using some of our Sacred Scripture. "Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is th etongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. Brother Adam
"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Hebrews 4:12 I'm going to turn you into Bible-thumpers yet
dUSt
I've merged this topic with the "Cussssing" topic because they deal with the same issue. Now... I don't swear or use bad language because I don't think it's holy. If you wouldn't use the words as you're kneeling in front of the tabernacle, why use them in your every day life? Are we not called to be holy at all times? God bless.

Lounge Daddy
dUSt, Bro. Adam, Norseman82, … thank you. I really feel that the power of God’s Gift of spoken speech is very much taken for granted today. Only a word can make or break a job, a friendship, or a marriage. God entrusted us with a powerful thing called speech… let us use our tongues wisely. :D

It can be an instrument of life or destruction. It is capable of lifting up or casting down. Let us pray that we can use our tongues for that which is good. Lil Red
just to throw about my .2 cents in as Catholics we are called to be charitable and part of that is respecting other people and not subjecting them to language that could possible offend them (that does not apply to the content of what you have to say i.e. temper your wording not your message) however to imply that someone's word choice makes them less of a person is nothing more than an attempt to manipulate them by offending them. WORD!
