I do too like the Palm Sunday one.
Now do you think Sister Mary Imelda will quit being camera shy and get a photo of herself! LOL :lol_roll:
I do like the photo updates.

Are they allowed AIM? I thought that you couldn't have that in cloistered communities.

Through AIM is how they do a lot of there vocation work...and keep in contact with girls that are possibly seeking there convent or interested. Only the Vocation Director is the one allowed to do such of this....I know that they get a lot of contacts through AIM and a lot of good things are coming through it :)

I'm not so big on instant messaging because I like time to think about my replies, but I do think it is helpful for convents to be online these days, even if it is only one of the community - to stay in touch with young people for vocations, and to understand the world enough to be able to offer prayers for it.

At Christ in the Desert, only the Abbot, the Prior, and the Vocations Director have regular internet access in their cells. That I know of at least, none of them have any kind of Instant Messaging software available to them. At Our Lady of the Desert also on their property, none of the nuns had internet access in their cells. Direct internet access is available in the Business Office, the Gift Shop, and the Computer Room. Most of the monks had computers in their cells, but unless they were seminarians, their computers would not have Instant Messaging software installed. Over at Our Lady of the Desert, only the Business Office, Library, and Prioress' Office had internet access, and there was no instant messaging software. Messaging and chat software was expressly banned at Christ in the Desert, and internet usage itself was severely restricted.

I too love the photo updates, but I totally agree that Sister Mary Imelda needs to not be camera shy!!!! Maybe...at the end of this Holy Week and Easter celebration...there will be a picture of her! I sure hope so!
