cathoholic_anonymous
Are they allowed AIM? I thought that you couldn't have that in cloistered communities.

Only the Vocation Director is the one allowed to do such of this....I know that they get a lot of contacts through AIM and a lot of good things are coming through it

That I know of at least, none of them have any kind of Instant Messaging software available to them. At Our Lady of the Desert also on their property, none of the nuns had internet access in their cells. Direct internet access is available in the Business Office, the Gift Shop, and the Computer Room. Most of the monks had computers in their cells, but unless they were seminarians, their computers would not have Instant Messaging software installed. Over at Our Lady of the Desert, only the Business Office, Library, and Prioress' Office had internet access, and there was no instant messaging software. Messaging and chat software was expressly banned at Christ in the Desert, and internet usage itself was severely restricted.

Maybe...at the end of this Holy Week and Easter celebration...there will be a picture of her! I sure hope so!
