dUSt
Would some of you like to give a shot at coming up with a phatmass mission statement? I'll be using it as part of a new section of the site describing what phatmass is all about. Let's brainstorm. I'll probably end up combining a lot of what y'all come up with. A mission statement should be a brief, concise statement of the purpose of this site. Some of you who have been around forever should come up with some good stuff, and some of you who are brand new should be able to come up with something fresh. I'd like to include these things into it somehow: Jesus Christ Orthodoxy Devotion to Mary Apologetics Eucumenical Dialogue Charity Holiness Popular Culture Liturgical Abuse Awareness I look forward to what we come up with. Lounge Daddy
Do we start by looking at the Apostle’s Creed? A good staring point, a good outline? hmmm...

I'd like to include these things into it somehow: Jesus Christ Orthodoxy Devotion to Mary Apologetics Eucumenical Dialogue Charity Holiness Popular Culture Liturgical Abuse Awareness I look forward to what we come up with. Phatmass is a virtual meeting place for Catholics and non-Catholics alike. We welcome religions of all faiths and diversity, and encourage Ecumenical Dialogue in a spirit of charity. We recognize that we are all children of Jesus Christ striving for holiness, which is fundamentally founded upon the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic faith. This is fostered by an adherence to Orthodoxy which is the result of a life of love and prayer, especially that of devotion to the Most Holy Eucharist and Our Holy Mother, Mary. In this spirit, we encourage broad participation and dialogue, both apologetically and spirtually. It is inevitable that when such varied faiths come together, there will not be full agreement, however, we must never forget that our ultimate goal is Sainthood, and we are here to help each other attain that state. Therefore, let us all come together, if even virtually, in order to be better understand each other, while building up those of our own faith, that we all may hear Jesus say at the end of our journey, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a little, I will set you over much; enter into the joy of your master.' Do with it what you will, this is merely a rough draft incorporating all of your requisites except Liturgical Abuse Awareness. God Bless
Aloysius
my changes in red: Phatmass is a virtual meeting place for Catholics and non-Catholics alike. We welcome religions of all faiths and diversity, and encourage Ecumenical Dialogue in a spirit of charity. Also, within our own faith, in hopes to bring the body of Christ into an even more visible unity to strengthen the faith of all its members, we also intend to provide information and resources to educate the faithful of the way the Liturgy of our Rite is to be carried out. We welcome religions of all faiths and diversity, and encourage Ecumenical Dialogue in a spirit of charity. We recognize that we are all children of God made possible by the sacred union between Jesus Christ's divinity and humanity striving for holiness, which is fundamentally founded upon the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic faith. This is fostered by an adherence to Orthodoxy which is the result of a life of love and prayer, especially that of devotion to the Most Holy Eucharist and Our Holy Mother, Mary. PedroX
Also, within our own faith, in hopes to bring the body of Christ into an even more visible unity to strengthen the faith of all its members, we also intend to provide information and resources to educate the faithful of the way the Liturgy of our Rite is to be carried out. This is a run-on sentence. How about: Also, within our own Catholic tradition, we desire a more perfect and visible unity. To this end we alert our gathering to liturgical abuses, and provide instruction in correct liturgical forms. peace...
Aloysius
actually, that's not a runon sentence. if you don't believe me copy and paste it into microsoft word, it's a correct sentence. Also, (Prepositional Phrase)within our own faith, (Prepositional Phrase)in hopes to bring the body of Christ into an even more visible unity to strengthen the faith of all its members, Subjectwe Verbintend to provide information and resources to educate the faithful of the way the Liturgy of our Rite is to be carried out. however, the second also is a bit redundant.
