Groo the Wanderer
Well...since the thread was created, but no post was made...I should assuage the feelings of the poor lil thread and give it one. Logged into my latest online class today. Class expectaions listed in the Online Ettiquette section that Language of a 'Sexist, heterosexist, or racist nature will not be tolerated." Had to look up heterosexist, since it seemed to be a manufactured word. I was right. Seems it is a term coined by the gay left activists to mean 'any term presupposeing heterosexuality as the societal norm'. My beef is twofold: 1. why does this term have to be included at all? 2. if it must be included, where is the term homosexist? Does this mean that pushing homsexuality as normal is allowed, while pushing heterosexuality as normal is not? Should I even be upset over this? Should I go get some coffee (2 days left to enjoy it) and chill? grrr
