Andrea348
Sr. Allison's sister, I think, wrote a song about the alabaster jar that was sung on Life on the Rock by the pcpa's with Sr. Allison playing the harp. It was soooo beautiful! EDIT: If you want to hear the song, go to this link and go down to episode #336 You want to start listening 11 minutes into the program. [post="EWTN"]http://www.ewtn.com/vondemand/audio/seriessearchprog.asp?pgnu=6&SeriesID=-6892323[/post] Here are some lyrics: "You must break the alabaster jar and pour it at his feet, Like Mary Magdalene, who then began to weep. Do not be afraid to give him your all, You've been called to break the alabaster jar." While in her discerning process, a Carmelite nun said, "Allison, you've got to break the alabaster jar of your life." Her sister wrote it after Allison entered for the feast of St. Therese because she had said: "Jesus, for you my ointment jar I break, the perfume of my life is thine." Sr. Allison also said on the episode "A young girl can be criticized for entering the convent and giving it all to Jesus because they say that you can do so much more in the world, but Jesus deserves it all, so Jesus wants us to spend it all. uruviel
what a beautiful interview, thank you so much for sharing. I really admired her statements about the connection between motherhood and religious life, and how vital 'motherly' care is to being a religious sister. It was inspiring
