Mary-Kathryn
Doesn't anyone have an suggestions for our priest who's been teaching us Latin?
Gift cards or a gift certificate for a favorite restaurant. If you really want to make a fuss, how about the kids "help" fix and serve the good Father an Italian meal {spaghetti } Complete with the music and atmosphere of course. melikalani
At a Mass I attended before Christmas, the priest said he got black sweaters more often than any other gift. He said one time he moved and counted up all the black sweaters he owned -- 23. He gave 20 of them to a local seminary ... then before he left his staff gave him one as a going-away gift.
Haha! That's exactly why gift cards are so appreciated! Black belts or socks are also good. If you're thinking of buying him a wallet, pay attention to what kind he already carries, i.e., bi-fold or tri-fold. If he uses one kind, he probably won't be used to the other kind. Also, instead of giving books, I give my priest/seminarian/brother-friends gift certificates to their favorite bookstore. That way they'll probably read what they get! :
homeschoolmom
Our homeschool co-op made quilts for our priests for Christmas. Each kid made a square and one of the moms did a fantastic job of sewing them together. I was really impressed. They were very masculine colored and very soft and warm. They each looked really pleased. It was fun.
