The priests are probably going to kill me for recommending that you buy them a book for a gift, but this book is absolutely amazing:

This is a book on preaching written by a professor at Mundelein Seminary that is very good. It draws on the homiletic traditions of the Fathers of the Latin Church through the Middle Ages (it ends with Dean John Colet). It essentially outlines their methods and tactics with regards to preaching. On top of that, the author used to work in the communications industry, so he kinda knows what he's talking about. Just an idea!

That actually looks quite awesome. I bet my priest would love that. Most priests I know love anything relating to St. John Vianney (patron of Parish priests) as well.

I know many priests who would not have a problem with receiving a book. I've known many to receive much larger and far more more lavish items. I would TOTALLY get this for my priest friends. :D:

Our priest bought two copies of the same book, once because he liked it so much. He eventually gave one to my dad.

If he's a good preacher, it shouldn't say much of anything. But people are usually too timid to tell their priest that he's a carpy preacher.

I need a gift idea for our priest. He's been kind enough to teach the parts of the mass in Latin to our homeschool co-op. Suggestions?

I was thinking of getting him a plaque that says, "Dear Father, thanks for teaching us the parts of the Holy Mass. You rock!" in Latin.
