hyperdulia again
If you have never actually BELIEVED a given teaching, but do your best to give your "religious assent" to it, what do you do when you still cannot no matter how much scripture you read and many how many Church docs. you leaf through see the logic OR the revelation behind the teaching? Doesn't disbelief of a given teaching (not doubt, but disbelief), bar one recieving communion? What is responsible dissent? The definition of this I was given sounds like hypocrisy, "Privately believe ___. Don't encourage others to believe ____. Don't tell people you believe _____." These are three questions, but they go together. Please answer.
Pontifex
Ask for the Holy Spirit to enlighten your heart and your mind. Sin darkens our intellects and weakens our will. If you are resisiting what you are learning then ask for deliverance. Invite God to fill you with his love. Invite the Holy Spirit to shine the light of his Love on your darkened intellect and to strengthen your will. Persevere in prayer, and hold on to the cross. Peace, Fr.
