photosynthesis
my roommate and I were having this discussion about surrogate parenting (the process where one woman carries another woman's child. In this discussion, my friend brought up a hypothetical situation in she was pregnant and suffering from a health problem that would endanger the unborn child. She suggested the idea of removing the child from her own womb and implanting it into another woman's womb. yeah...i don't know how she came up with this idea...I mean, I'd just let God work according to His purposes, but what does the Church say about stuff like this? Pontifex
If this were possible, I don't think that it would be wrong. I think that saving the life of a child by extraordinary means is noble and virtuous. However, this is a far cry from the surrogate mother. I would not apply the principles of the first to the second situation at all. Peace, Fr. P
