christopher
I'm not asking so much about the differences as I am about advice for conversion, what that would mean. How DO you convert? RCIA? he-he. Shouldn't we be praying for the reuniting prophesized in Fatima by Our Lady? The Orthodox Church and Byzantine seems to stay true to a more reverent, traditional worship that I long for when I can't go to the Latin Mass. Thank You and God Bless you all. BLAZEr
My friend converted from Greek Orthodoxy to Roman Catholicism. Basically, she went to three classes with a priest friend of ours and it was clear she desired union with the Holy Father, so at the Easter Vigil, she professed the Nicene Creed and was received at communion. It was pretty simple. She might have also had to make some public statement professing her fidelity to the Holy Father or something, but I don't know. I agree that we should be praying for the Union of the East and West. In fact I do pray for this. Still, I think we have to remember that the Holy Father has mentioned that the Church prays with two lungs, the East and the West. In our desire for union, we desire that they are in communion with the Holy Father in faith and morals, but their liturgical and theological traditions should still stand.
