bookofjohn
Hi everybody! I would like to know, what is your opinion on "Feng Shui"? On which level do you disagree or agree with "Feng Shui"? Personally, I am quite "anti-Feng Shui" because of the elements it brings in; for example: statues of buddha, goddesses, frogs, flowers, mirrors, bells, red coloured strings, etc.. apparently to improve the "qi"(energy). Would appreciate it if you could include the Word of God in your opinions! Thanks! BookOfJohn  Edited January 23, 2004 by bookofjohn
jasJis
I only know general information about 'feng shui'. Truthfully, I believe it is a spiritual recognition of the 'Order' of the universe that is a fact. The "Order" that existits in the Universe is a partial fingerprint of God and it is sound to recognize the coorelation of the spiritual/physical nature of Creation, the world around us, and ourselves. Where it goes wrong, is it's lack of attributing the 'order' of creation to God's Glory that exists inately in His Creation.
Norseman82
From what I understand of Feng Shui, we have to rearrange our furniture in our offices, cubicles, and homes in order to align with some "positive energies" or something. That, to me, is a form of the occult. Thanks, Dan
M.SIGGA
as long as you don't worship statues and feel the chi it's harmless and tacky.
ironmonk
Qi (pronounced: chi) is what your life energy is called. Things that make you feel good, improve your positive energy. Engery does not come from the objects, the energy is in you, the objects help bring out the postive energy which you already have. When you see something that is inviting, that means you have a positive qi reaction to it. There is some logic to it, but you bring in, what you want, you don't have to use statue's of budda... Anna
Careful! It's New Age. Indeed it is. The Catholic Church does not teach that qi is our life energy. It teaches that man has an eternal soul as its spiritual center. The New Age focuses on the qi as the life force. But it is a spiritual force, not a physical one, not an emotional one. New Age energy movers will drain off negative energy for you, and channel positive energy into you... Beware. Stick with Feng Vera Wang :P
nikkan_hanil
Careful! It's New Age. New Age? Feng S. is like ancient. Anyway, I don't do no Bum Shui (on purpose typo), I just think that the little candles with the coin wrapped around them look utterly cool.
M.SIGGA
My roomate's gf feng shuied our appartment last year. She turned the beds from the door and put live plants in all the rooms. I thought it was rather refreshing, but when she wanted to get rid of the t.v. in the kitchen I put my foot down. It's horribly trendy and tacky, but as long as you're not crazy or a wannabe it's not all that bad. Go buy a bamboo plant and lights some candles and keep in mind the Puritans never had any fun :rolling:
NewReformation
Feng Shui-Chinese for "Americans are stupid" Did you know that a California congressman is currently trying to pass legislation requiring all homes being built in California to be 'feng shui correct'? In other words, if your home don't flow, you can't build it.
Anna
Sheesh, and they accuse prolifers of trying to impose their values on other peeps!!! nikkan_hanil, New Age is ancient forms of pagan worship, dusted off and represented, pretty much. Just because it's ancient doesn't mean it's ok. There's not place for crucifix or a holy water font in a feng shui room!
