Seatbelt Blue
I loves me some Norah Jones. She's probably the first jazz artist in a long time to get any kind of popular recognition among the MTV crowd. "Turn Me On," well, turns me on. I love that line "My glass is waiting / for some fresh ice cubes." The psuedo-country of "Lonestar" rocks my socks. I've been listening to 10,000 Maniacs MTV Unplugged, with their wonderful cover of Patti Smith's "Because the Night." If anyone doesn't know Patti Smith, you need to check out the album Easter. Not as daring as Horses, Easter is far more accessible to the average listener, and includes the penned-with-Bruce-Springsteen "Because the Night," probably Smith's biggest commercial single. I've also been listening to Elephant by the White Stripes, and The Distillers by the Distillers. The eponymous debut is a roaring return to old school punk, evocative of the Ramones, and Brody Armstrong's harsh, course voice is a nice change from most chickpunk. And I listen to a _lot_ of chickpunk.
