the_rev
I'll second all of the above. But, you can also ask your guardian angel to wake you up. It's a good way to start/rekindle that relationship
I have already asked my angel Sebastion to do that for me, he'll wake me up but then I'll go back to sleep.
I never wake up when I choose a time that is unrealistic and impossible. You have to be reasonable with yourself and know (depending on how much sleep you need) in how early you are really able to get up. This comes with making sure you are consistent in your sleeping patterns and give yourself time to sleep each night. If your sleeping schedule is out of wack, it makes it hard to wake up those early mornings. Routine and discipline are the key.
When I work I may work til 10 or 11. I think during the school week I'm going to set a curfew of 10:00 thus beginning evening and night prayer at 9:15-9:30. I have been getting in the habit of watching Seinfeld on Fox at 10 until 11. Going ot be an hour earlier might help my prayer life.
Make your wake up time 15 minutes earlier every second day
That's a good idea. So Monday and Tuesday I get up at 6:45, then Wednesday and Thursday 6:30, etc.
St. Vitus--Patron Saint Against Oversleeping...
Pray for us! prose
Last night I went to bed at about 11. My daughter woke up at 1am, and then I had a nightmare at 4am. My alarm went off at 6:30am. I pressed the snooze until 7:00am. Then, despite everything in me wanting to sleep, I dragged myself out of bed. Why? Because I needed to be at the Church by 8:00am. Weekdays, I usually go to be at about 11pm, and many nights wake up with my one year old at least once. Then I get up at about 7 or 8am. Why? Because I need to go to work. Is morning prayer as important as work or school? If so (as it should be), try gently reminding yourself that when you want to ignore your alarm. Also, you don't need 45 minutes of prayer. If you can't do that much (by getting up that early), start smaller One more thing, try getting a clock with a radio alarm or a CD player. I find it much harder to sleep through good music.
