the_rev
I have a problem. I want to awake each day at like 5:45 to do morning prayers, but i never wake up. I set my alarm, and I might look at the clock and I'll say ot myself, "I'll wait two more minutes." I fall back asleep and an hour later, it's 7:00 and I have 45 minutes to make it school and don't do morning prayer. Do you have any advice as to how I can get up and now keep sleeping? Your help would be appreciated. Edward L

Didymus
set your alarm to 615 or 630 instead and say less prayers till you have that set into habit (like a month), then start setting it earlier and earlier, continually adding your prayers till you have it like you want it now like Liturgy of the Hours morning prayer? cmotherofpirl
Go to bed two hours earlier. Get off the bed when the alarm goes off. Its called discipline :
SJRod55
Use two alarms. Set one beside the bed and the other away so you HAVE to get out of bed to turn it off. It works, once out of bed you might as well stay up

cmotherofpirl
You will have to decide how important saying Morning Office actually is to you. If its important enough you will do it. It only takes about 15 minutes to say the office and 10 minutes to get ready for school, so set your alarm accordingly and go to bed early. Discipline is something you actually have to work at in life, it suddenly doesn't just appear at a certain age. Make you decision then just do it. littleflower+JMJ
I never wake up when I choose a time that is unrealistic and impossible. You have to be reasonable with yourself and know (depending on how much sleep you need) in how early you are really able to get up. This comes with making sure you are consistent in your sleeping patterns and give yourself time to sleep each night. If your sleeping schedule is out of wack, it makes it hard to wake up those early mornings. Routine and discipline are the key.
shelbyjd
My mom always says that you need to pray to God to get you out of bed some days...and He who can do all things wake you & make it hard to go back to sleep...at least it has worked for me. Birgitta Noel
I'll second all of the above. But, you can also ask your guardian angel to wake you up. It's a good way to start/rekindle that relationship
